SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Oct 25

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Oct 25, 2022 6:28 am

Good morning,

Well, my house is like a hosp ward right now. I have discharge papers spread all over the kitchen counter, meds, and wound treatment supplies. Between Scottie and Bill, I'm really having to revive my old nursing skills. They both look miserable but Scottie is downright pathetic with his cone that he keeps banging into everything. Foxy and I did get a little sewing time yesterday when everyone was down for their naps.

This morning we're taking the car to Tacoma to get new rear brakes. We'll also swing into the Sew 'n' Vac to discuss my issues with Chip. I am expecting them to send him back to Seattle. They did say they would put a rush on him if that happens. I'll have to get out my old travelin' Bernie, "Stitch".

This afternoon, if nothing else pops up I will sew up a few Nov Lotto blocks. We'll see which machine I use. I also have a beautiful Featherweight but I haven't used it for years, have no place to even display it, so I think I'll be putting it up for sale when we return from Texas in the spring.

BECCA - I'm sure thinking of little Brodee and his family today and offering up prayers for a smooth surgery and an uneventful recovery for him. I hope they can remove the shunt. And thinking of you, too, as you go in for your crown on Thursday.

CAROL - I guess people still think of you, after your years of experience, as the go-to person. It's actually a compliment if you think about it. Perhaps a bothersome compliment, but still, a compliment.

LORI - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! What are your plans to celebrate the day? My Bill is happy to hear he has another Bill who feels his pain. And that's exactly how he described it = feels like an ingrown toenail on his thumb. But we're kind of thinking he has a small sliver, thorn, or metal shaving imbedded so deeply that we can't really see it. Sometimes, when I'm inspecting it under the lighted magnifier, I can almost see a fleeting shadow of something. This happened to my younger sister's DH. He ignored it and ended up in PCU for 9 days, had surgery, and went home on IV antbx for 2 more weeks. Doctors told him at one point they weren't sure he was going to make it. Keeping him in mind, we're watching this closely. I think it looks slightly improved this morning.

Supper. I guess we'll have leftover Hungarian goulash. We weren't too thrilled with is last night and Bill said it was Ok with him if I never make it again. But that he could take it for another night or two. So - that will be supper for tonite. yum.

How about you?

Good Morning,

Today is a Disneyland solo trip. After vacation, Covid and a Jury Duty week I have been a need to escape by myself and recharge. (No, I did not have to serve on a jury, but I could not plan anything that week ahead of time. Luckily, I did not have to serve, and I got several things done.)

Maryz - You reminded me that once I cut my finger and unknowingly got some ink in it. A few days later I had a streak past my elbow. My Mom took me to the emergency room (before Urgent Care). I had an infection in my lymph system commonly called blood poisoning. Hope Bill is feeling better and Scottie handles the cone better today.

You are correct it is a compliment, but one I can do without!

Becca - I will be thinking of Brodee today and offering prayers for him.

A friend's niece's two-week-old baby ended up in the hospital with RSV. She is now home with her parents.

Dinner tonight will be Stuffed Pepper Casserole.

Have a fun day today! (I know I will have a fun time!)

Carol

Becca, hope you were able to find the SSN card.

Carol, I bet you are having a lovely day at D-land. The weather is perfect.

Mary, I sure hope Bills thumb gets better not worse. I bet Scottie is having a time with the collar. We we have to put one on Wrigley, he runs into everything. He's already a big goofy dog and it just makes it worse.
Thank goodness you and Foxy were able to sew a bit.

We are heading out to a late lunch as soon as Bill gets back from the Eye Dr. He said his vision is improving a bit. Just slow going.

Have a lovely evening.

Good afternoon!

My house smells yummy! Fresh whole wheat bread just came out of the oven. Can't wait to slice off a piece and slather it with butter. When Michael cracks the whole kernels for his breakfast cereal, there are fines left that we save and I make bread from those.

Ethan is decorating the cookie house and the island is covered in more frosting than the house! So is he!

Dinner - chili is the leading contender at the moment. I have rice and fries to go with.

Kari's mom's surgery was late yesterday afternoon and I haven't heard any more.

Mary - oh, poor Scottie! The cone and running into things. And Bill's thumb - hope it gets healed quickly.

Becca - Daniel misplaced his SS card and ordered a replacement. It took about 2 weeks to get here. He needed it to get his driver's license.

Carol - great place to reset! I love Disneyland!

Lori - hope the eye continues to improve. That scares me, not being able to see. My mom went through that in her later life.

Well, dinner is still iffy,

Hugs,
Jana
