SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, March 13th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Mar 13, 2022 7:04 am

Good morning,

Well, we forgot, and our clocks fooled us this morning. lol! I suspect we aren't the only ones. Are we??

Yesterday we finished up my North Star quilt and posted a photo. We'll give it to our friend, Susie, next Friday when they come over for what I will be calling 'Irish Stew'. It's my regular stew but in March I call it "Irish". :D

Today, we're loading up the last of my tops. Yay! It's been waiting it's turn for 2 years and its time has finally come. Bill is also still working to patch the oversized hole in the wall the electricians had to cut for our new electrical panel. They had to do that to give themselves room to work with all the wires. I think today will be sanding the "mud" and maybe painting. After that, we'll replace that bit of wallpaper border that was cut out. And THEN we can start putting our downstairs back together again - which of course, will include a thorough cleaning of the entire room. So - today? tomorrow? But soon.

JANA - the spring rolls were delicious last night and right out of the air fryer. I didn't add extra oil partly because I didn't think they needed it, and partly because I didn't see your post until long after supper! lol! I think I won't be getting a robot vacuum any time soon. I don't need any more 2-yr-old-wannabes here. I already have Scottie, Foxy, and Bill!

IRISH - I hope your neighbor's fur-baby is OK in the snow!! I worry, you know. I didn't know you played a keyboard!

VELDA - I love doing projects like the one you described yesterday. A challenge! Today I'm going to put together the last of our comfort tops and it's what I call the stems and seeds of all the donated blocks for PFTH - different colors, themes, and about 7 different sizes! All the ones that didn't fit into the other tops. Somehow I will make them all fit into one "eclectic" quilt.

CAROL - oh, your list of things-to-do-when-no-longer-president sounds ideal! You said you will probably hold a different office after this. Will that take up much of your time?

I have a couple of ideas for supper tonite - one is Yankee dip sandwiches, but not sure if Bill will want to grill - the weather is supposed to be really Cra--y today and the grilll, of course, is out on the deck. My other thought is the tamales that we never got to last week. I'm trying to use up some of the older things in the freezer. So, still thinking here.

What are you thinking about?

Good Morning to all! Oh, Mary, what a challenge to make all those blocks fit. Sounds kinda like what I worked on yesterday. Maybe I will post a picture here as an edit.
I am going to do more today after I finish the cookies I will bake today for our church's monthly treat project. We are doing cookies, little Debbie cakes, and Hershey's kisses.
We meet tomorrow to assemble our little treat packages. The ladies that have Ben a part of this project for years, said it is rewarding to see how the faces light up when they receive this little gift. 🤗
For our brunch/lunch after church I cooked Turkey Bacon in air fryer and tried Izzy's suggestion of how she uses her air fryer for potatoes. ( See my thread for her directions)
Toast is absolutely perfect! Only problem was, trying to get everything ready at the right time. I did eggs a bit too soon, but everything was delicious anyway.
Tonight we will just fix ham sandwiches 🥪 with cheese and a few potato chips or Sun Chips, we really like those lately.
Can't wait to go visit photo thread to see your quilt, Mary.
Sending hugs to all.

Mary, glad you all the electrical work done. Bill will have it patched up in no time.

I watched a video on how Jen Kingwell picks her fabrics for a quilt. I like her style.

Today I need to vacuum and dust.
Then I'll sew. I cut up 2 more quilt projects ready to sew. They are great to grab when I sew with friends.

I'm thinking baked potatoes and something to go with them for dinner.
Have a lovely day.

Tonight, was dinner out. I had Pot Roast and DH had Stir Fry. Both were delicious.

I finished the four corner blocks for my signature quilt. I will use one block for myself. It has room for four signatures, and I will put my name, President, SBQG, and the years in those four spaces.

Jana - We saved changing our clocks until this morning. Several of them set themselves. We went to Church last evening so didn't have to be anywhere this morning.

Maryz - Nice that you got the electrical almost done and were able to repair the wall. Your room will look so nice once it is all clean!

Vel - Nice quilt, I like how you made it grow by adding borders. You are definitely enthusiastic about your air fryer. I need to use ours more.

I cleaned up my sewing room today and have several small projects to work on during the Zoom Sew-ins. I did not quilt today but will tomorrow.
