SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Dec 18th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Dec 18, 2021 12:00 pm

I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! With all my supper-peeps! I had my post all typed out and then My computer went down. Grrrr.,... Then we went off to the U-wash Dog-wash where we came home with a very unhappy, albeit, much cleaner dog. This afternoon's activity will be brushing his long coat and giving him a bit of a trim. When we got back from dog wash, my computer was still down so Bill finally gave a big sigh and started trying to figure out the problem. (good news! it wasn't operator error! this time.) So I started to sew and my machine claimed it was time for it to be lubricated. This I did but then the bobbin wouldn't go back in. So finally I had to call Bill away from my computer to fix my Bernie. (it was the spring) Everyone knows I am happy to sew away my days but people always ask Bill what he does when we're parked down here for weeks at a time.   Yesterday he fixed the toilet. Day before it was a light fixture. And so on and on it goes.

Anyhoo - I had a nice chatty post all typed out when my computer conked out but it's gone now. So we'll just get right to the 'meat' of the matter - sliced kielbasa mixed into leftover Rice-a-Roni with salad on the side.

What's your plan?

Hi all you supper peeps!
We're cold, windy and very cloudy with spits of rain here and there. A perfect indoor holiday day!
Easton started the night and I was supposed to have Jazmyne and Preston come over today so Holly and her worst half could go Christmas shopping but because our weather is bad especially the wind she decided to go tomorrow. My menu has changed 3 times already LOL 1st I was going to make spaghetti but since they aren't coming over I changed it to chicken enchilada casserole but Easton decided to stay again tonight so I changed it to chili soup LOL the weather is perfect for soup.
I'm sewing some aprons and bindings together today.

Good afternoon!

It's been one of those days around here! I first was getting the Christmas program all finalized for tomorrow. Since Christmas falls on a Saturday, I picked the closest Sunday before Christmas to do the big program. Well, the Ward wanted some of it on the 26th, after Christmas, so I was scrambling to fix what I had done. It is straightened out now. Then last night, I had forgot to take Ethan's letter out of the mailbox I have here for the grands to mail their letters to Santa - Ethan checked and was upset that the elf didn't take his letter - I fixed that this morning - first thing and that letter is now safely tucked away in the stash of grands letters. My Ethan will be 10 on the first of January and he still believes in Santa - no doubt that Santa is real! Some little snotball friend of Baden, who's 5 told Baden that Santa is fake, so we are dealing with that fallout on that side. Oh Ethan wrote in his letter to Santa that he would like a Baby Yoda Lego set - I have had that set for Ethan since September. Grandma was good with that one! Then the main house phone has been acting up and not ringing, giving a busy signal and all kinds of grief. So much that Sarah comes down to let us know it's acting up again. So Michael is trying to troubleshoot that. We won't even go the the operator error in trying to transfer the embroidery files from the computer to the sewing machine. I did finally succeed at that. So it has been a day here!

Dinner - I have some of the fixings from last night for Michael and has half of my leftover dinner for me. No cooking, just zapping in the Microwave - oh that has been giving me fits too - the door gets slightly off kilter and won't open by itself. I just need to tweak the hinge to fix it. It happens often.

Mary - seems like you are keeping Bill busy fixing things too! I didn't tell you about Lila and the her kitty - seems as if Lila went upstairs and shut the door - first red flag - found the Desitin and proceeded to put Desitin on the kitty. The kitty is a semi long hair cat and detests being brushed. But Aaron and Kate got the Desitin off her. Without getting too scratched. Kitty is fine now and I keep telling Aaron, you can't let that Little Lila out of your sight - EVER! So Scotty can commiserate with Sassy, Lila's kitty.

Tina - You are so good about being flexible with grandkids food - mine got me a sign - You will eat it and you will enjoy it! Not that I don't change up food here just for them. LOL!

Becca - glad that CA is doing better today. It's hard to do for them, when they don't feel great.

Our cookies, Russian Teacakes came out wonderful last night and they are mostly gone - cookies are to be eaten! We can make more this week.

Time to fold the church bulletin for tomorrow - then drive Michael over to the chapel to drop them off. He still isn't driving yet - the COVID brain fog is still slightly there and we want to make sure he doesn't get distracted by it as he drives. So i am the designated driver!

Stay warm!
Hugs,
Jana

Hi Everyone,

Wondered where everyone was today. Good news, I finally finished frogging the quilt I have been quilting. Seems I was way too confident on my first pass down the center with ribbon candy design and it had to be ripped out. That will teach me! I have other blocks marked so I should make a lot of progress in the next few days.

I made Rocky Road Candy and Peanut Brittle today. I want to try fudge once again but need to find a block of time. Perhaps tomorrow I will have time after breakfast.

Jana - I was in a class of third graders several years ago and one of the boys decided to tell others who believed in Santa that it was not true. I walked behind and said, shrugging my shoulders "It's magic". I sure hope it helped. (I did talk to the culprit too.)

Becca - Glad your DH is feeling a little better. You certainly are keeping the baking going.

Tina - Glad you can change the menu for the child. I might have been more like Jana, but who is to say? You are a wonderful Grandmother!

Mary - Glad you keep Bill fixing things.

The Peanut Brittle must be cool enough now to break apart. Talk to all of you tomorrow!

Carol
