SUPPER CLUB - Wed, June 30

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Jun 30, 2021 5:51 am

Good morning,

We were up early again this morning - though not as early as yesterday! at 4:30 it's still dark. Seems like a few weeks ago it was already pretty light at 4:30. Winter's coming!

Yesterday as a good day - only got to 84*. Still 10 degrees higher than our norm but by golly, we were happy to take it! I actually got some things done - finally cleaned most of the trailer, sorted cupboards/drawers, purged, restocked. Somehow we've collected so much extra like 5 sunscreens, 5 cortizone creams, 6 dental floss, and lots of extra plastic Glad and Ziplock containers. We have room in the cabinets again! Today I'll wash the bedding, vac, and mop, swap out my bookshelf, and do a few more odds and ends.

I also got my sew-along blocks all caught up. Today maybe I'll have time to sew on my GD3 or Star Bright stars. Good to get back in the sewing room again.

LORI - My Gypsy Dancer is also a Jen Kingwell only she named it Gypsy Wife. Though you probably know that. Her patterns are happy patterns. I love scrappy!

JANA - the fun never stops in your family! Hope Baden is OK. He's FIVE?? Seems like he should only be about 18 months. Hoping Daniel is able to visit as planned, but I know if he's needed at home, that's where you want him to be. You raised good kids.

TINA - glad you are getting good weather! 78 is purrfect! Yes, we could have gone to the trailer and almost did, especially to sleep the last night in the heat. But actually, our basement level in our house is fairly cool. Only got to 78* and our bedroom was even a bit cooler than that. So we did OK. Didn't stop me from whining though! :D :D :D

We have a big bowl of pozole left from last night. It was good but runs heavy to broth though, so I may add something more to it . . . And a salad. So our supper is planned! How about yours?

Good morning!
It gets light at your place at 4:30am Mary?! We don't see light till about 6:30 here. I don't think I'd like light that early, no wonder you're up so early and to bed so early. Sounds like you've been a busy one as usual LOL moss doesn't grow under you for sure!
We've really been enjoying these cooler temps and loving the rain! It drizzled for hours last night, we didn't even have to close our window. It's soggy out but I'll take it! Perfect time for this rain for the 4th of July fireworks displays. I don't think there was much to burn since weeds wouldn't even grow, we just had dirt. We'll be having weeds in a couple of weeks to hold the dirt down! I'm really hoping these rains have settled the silt dust down now 🤞
I made pork tenderloins last night instead of pork chops and rice and corn, it was yummy.
Dad's video appointment with his dr went really well yesterday, his PSA...PSI (?) numbers haven't moved up since 2019 so his cancer meds are all doing their jobs. The dr and us are all very happy 🥰🙏
I'm not sure about supper yet.
I'll be doing some uglies today.

Good morning!

Beautiful, bright, sunny and maybe even soggy day here! I rained last night and may do so again tonight. Michael is out giving the new trees a drink. They are doing well.

I will do more embroidery today. See sew in for my stupidity. Michael finally succeeded in getting the table blueprint drawn for the main table Daniel wants to build. Daniel is not one to sit around, he likes to be busy doing all the time. So he and Michael have been planning this part of the railroad together. In the front area, facing the family area, will be some IKEA cabinets, just like the ones my island has. I will be building those cabinets. I have now built many of those exact same ones, so my building fee may be the use of some of the drawers. We will see how that idea flies -LOL! The idea for these cabinets usage is all the videos, books, etc that Michael has that are model railroad related. 4 cabinets at 6 drawers each , plus four more drawers from the old bed of ours, 28 drawers, I think I could fanagle a few away.....

Dinner - tacos, which may morph into nachos , anyway, it's easy and won't heat up the kitchen.

Mary - I love seeing the sew along blocks everyone are making. In yours, I have seen fabrics that I have used, or that are in the scrap stash. Glad it has cooled off in your neck of the woods.

Tina - glad to read a good report on your Dad. And rain at your house too!

Well, it's time to get the day going here, breakfast awaits,

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, 0430 is very early for the sun to come up. Just after 5 is the earliest here. When I visit Jonathan in Utah, it's so odd that it stays light until 10 at night in the summer. Yes, I knew the quilt you were doing is a Jen Kingwell. I've never done one of hers before. Looks pretty easy and fun. The challenge will be finding fabrics in my scraps.

Tina, I love when we get rain in the summer time, which isn't very often. Maybe once every 5 years or so.
We don't usually see rain from May through October.

Jana, hope you get some extra drawers in the new table. I watch my friend make the patriotic Kimberbell pattern on her embroidery machine. It's really cute.

I need to get the boys going on their walk. Dh is off playing golf again today.

I think grilled chicken and potatoes will be dinner tonight.

Have a lovely day.

Wow, lunch time here already. Our supper tonight will be at a restaurant on the way to Wednesday night music event. Every Wednesday is a concert of country and gospel music. Called Gunney Sack Review Small dance floor, so we usually only get on the dance floor a few times. Don't know yet if I will do the Crispeto again or do a grilled chicken dinner. ??? I love both. Can't decide which I want.
Mary, you asked me how soon we can take possession of the new condo. Closing day is August 16.
Hoping so much that a buyer will pop up for the Fifth Wheel.
I did get caught up on Sew Along today.
Only a few weeks left. Time has gone by so fast.
Have a great afternoon.
