I fell asleep last night at 9:30, woke up at 11 PM, and never was able to go back to sleep. Finally got up at 3:30 which made the fur kids think they should have their breakfast. I am trying to hold them off until 5 AM. Otherwise they want supper at 1 PM in the afternoon
We had a nice Christmas visit with Autumn and Antonio and I gave them their quilts. They both seemed to love them though I need to make a correction on Antonio’s label. He was a captain in the army rangers. I put Lieutenant on his Label.
My sister is still in the hospital. And will likely stay at least one more night. They are teaching her to use a walker which I hadn’t thought, with her shoulder, she would be able to do. But it’s really helping. The longer they keep Her there the easier it will be for her and us too.
It’s been a remarkably busy few days here considering there really hasn’t been much to do. I only had about 30 minutes to sew yesterday. We have been extremely careful to stay out of public places, only go to the store when we really need to shop and then at 6 AM when the store is nearly empty. But today I am going to brave the Goodwill, Armed with a mask and sanitizer, looking for a couple skirts or simple dresses for my sister because she can’t get pants on over the large full length brace on her leg. I might also look for some wide leg sweatpants that we can slit.
Carol, I was happy to see an improved report on your sister. I hope she can get her surgery soon and will be back to normal before long. She has really been through the ringer
Jana, I hope Aaron gets the raise and the promotion. He deserves it! And yes, flying by sister Home was the first thing discussed. But Dr. discouraged that. He said fresh postop‘s should never fly and especially not orthopedic surgical patients. Risk of blood clots is too great. Plus, she has to get up and move around every hour and with the brace it would be hard to do on an airplane. And she needs help in the bathroom. We think, by extending our stay here 4 more days to give her more recuperation time we can manage it if we take it slow. But thanks for sharing any and all the ideas! Lord knows we need them and consider everything mentioned
Tina, I’m glad to hear Kevin It’s getting better. I hope he’s telling you the truth. Sorry about your mom’s death anniversary. I understand how you are feeling. My 2nd husband, Roy, and my sweet mom died within two weeks of each other. With my birthday in between. Plus Roy died on my Brother’s birthday. It was a tough time.
Becca, I hadn’t heard that your brother had Covid. I’m so glad it was a light case. I hope he has a quick and complete recovery
Lori, hope Emma continues to improve. I think kidney and bladder issues in cats are very common
I was going to make stroganoff for Al And Bill and me last night but after a late Christmas lunch with the kids we weren’t hungry. So I will make that For supper tonight. If my sister happens to come home today I think she will be OK with that. I believe she is on a regular diet now.
So what are you thinking about for supper?
