Pearl Harbor Day. I wasn’t born yet but 4 of my 5 siblings were. I won’t forget.
I got out of my scrubs yesterday and was going to go back to my 5 inch crazy blocks. I got five made, laid them out next to the finished one I brought from home. They were too small! I cut all my base muslin squares at 5 inches and they should have been 5 1/2 inches. This matters because 1/3 Of the quilt is already together at home.
Not sure what I will work on today. I am considering using leftover pine tree fabric-the background of my fox quilt-and make pillowcases for my sister.
Lori, I saw your boys pictures on Facebook, all dressed up for for Christmas. Such sweet faces! Too bad humans aren’t more like your boys! And yes, that reindeer quilt was pretty quick and a lot of fun to do. I love it. I used a small zigzag to sew on the appliquéd reindeer. You said you would probably do different colors on your next one. What colors would you use?
Jana, we never had an aluminum tree but I used to see them in windows a lot. My dad was a logger. He owned quite a bit of property, all heavily wooded. We just always went out in the woods to cut a tree. When he retired, he planted a Christmas tree farm. There was no shortage of green trees in my life. Any word on Sarah‘s flooring? I know she would love to have the project complete before her surgery.
Becca, I don’t know that I am especially fast at sewing quilts. There isn’t much else to do here. Except for Thanksgiving day it’s been too cold to do much outside. And with Covid we go nowhere except grocery store. So I sew. A lot.
Last night our security cameras at home alerted us. About 5:30 PM, PST, A police car brought Vicki home. We watched as he carried in about 12 shopping bags and then four or five heavy boxes that we assume were presto logs. Normally our cameras wouldn’t pick up motion that far away but there was a lot of activity as the officer made trip after trip after trip carrying things into the house. Makes me wonder how she shopped, how she thought she was going to get it all home, and what kind of scene she made going through the checkstand that got the police involved. The nearest store is 2 1/2 miles away. We let Ben know as this is the type of thing he is documenting.
I don’t know what dinner will be tonight. Half the time we end up sharing unplanned meals with my sister. I have some cooked potatoes in the fridge so perhaps I will make a potato/chicken/Pea cheesy casserole and a salad. Or maybe One dish Pasta with kielbasa.
And you?
