SUPPER CLUB - Monday, October 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Oct 26, 2020 5:31 am

Good morning,

Busy days here! Bill might get trailer repair finished today! Hoping, hoping, hoping. I got out there and started taking stock of supplies and took a few things out like paper products. I also got in a bit of sewing and we winterized our deck - brought in quilts, pillows, cushions and got the fountain ready for winter. Last night I was perusing Pinterest and found a fox quilt pattern I loved so decided to make that for my sister's new Fox Mountain Fifth-wheel. We downloaded the pattern and today I'll be pulling fabrics. This will be my official travel project now so I may pull out something else I'd already packed up to take. I can't do it all!

LORI - I'm so sorry I spaced over your birthday yesterday! I hope you were able to move forward and have a very happy day despite my oversight! Many happy belated birthday wishes! I do love your quilt. What is the name of the pattern?

BECCA - oh no! Not another broken arm! Doesn't this make three in this DGS's family? And what a way for you to find out. But at least you were right there at God's ear to say a prayer for little Wyatt. (love his name, by the way). Hope you get a favorable update today. Things never slow down in your family, do they?

JANA - how much snow do you have? My DBIL texted this morning - he has about a foot - so far. And it's 9* there this morning! Sarah's reno is really moving along! What all will be downstairs when this is all finished? Ethan's room, sewing space, and anything else? And yes, for sure all the extra RV repair supplies will be going into our emergency kit. We carry quite an array of stuff to fix things. Now we will carry more.

Our grandsons, Drew & Alec, will be coming tonite for supper. We haven't seen them since last Christmas and since we won't be here this year we'll be "doing Christmas" tonite with them. I'll give Alec his "We Whisk You a Merry Christmas" baking quilt. Since Alec is vegetarian, I think I'll make macaroni & cheese and salad. I have brussels sprouts in the fridge, too, but in my experience, young men don't like those, though Alec might. . . . .

What might you be having for your supper tonite?

Good morning!

Happy Birthday Lori!

We are cold! 14 for the low and maybe now up to 19. Time to stay snuggled up in a warm quilt. Snow is still on the ground. We got maybe 2 inches, so not much. But no one remembers how to drive in it, so Aaron was clearing fender benders.

Not much going on here. Laundry and sewing. Good word came back that Aaron's MIL came back negative. So we dodged that bullet!

Dinner - I think a batch of taco soup would be yummy and I can save some for a future meal.

Mary -- Sarah's finished basement has her sewing room, Ethan's bedroom, a office/bedroom that her DH uses, a full bathroom, and a family room. In the family room, the installed a gas fireplace, which heats the basement very nicely. Sarah also has built in on a wall, a wet bar - sink and cabinets, to clean up craft projects. Also there is a storage pantry cold room too. Her basement is not quite as big as mine. Hers is about 1300 square feet, mine is 2000 square feet.

Well, laundry is singing - my machines 0lay a tune when they are done,

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Surprise, surprise, I think I'm back...But, any how, it's a dreary, cloudy, cold day here in SW. Pa. but no snow...At this point, I wouldn't care if we had snow since I'm really not leaving the house...Last week we had summer like weather and when Kevin came to cut the grass, I sat out on the deck and it was like heaven..AND, then one of those days, he took me for a ride, went to visit Jim and also got a peek at some of the trees...Boy, made me feel normal, almost but sure did tire me out......
But, I've made it to my sewing/computer room...Normally I'm in the recliner with my tablet and half the time, it doesn't work, lol....But, I'll tell you, this whole thing has been an experience I hope none of you ever have to go through...Other than loosing close to 30 pounds, not a good thing, lol.....One kind of funny thing about the weight loss, I am a bath tub person, love soaking in a hot tub and the 1st time I was able to get in the tub, I had lost all the fat on my behind and couldn't sit, we had to fold up a towel....1st time I've ever really had no fat, lol.....But, I've been very fortunate, I didn't need a vent like my sister and I was only in the hospital twice for just a couple of days....But, it really does cause havoc on your body..My AFib drove the machines crazy and they still can't get the heart beat regulated and my lungs need to get with it, lol. But, this virus really does strange things to your body...It affected my eyes, still really can't read, your body feels like it's not part of you and most of the time, I couldn't get out of bed by myself or even walk to the bathroom.....Thank goodness I'm on 1 floor, I'd never be able to do steps...But, I found it very strange, not one doctor, nurse anyone that I talked to could give any advice other than, quarantine, rest and of course they all said, this will take months to get back to normal.....They gave me absolutly nothing in the hospital except an IV and oxygen in the ambulance which they took out when I got to the er....It was just a very, very strange thing and at times, I honestly didn't think I'd make it.....BUT, I guess someone still has plans for me......For right now, I have no plans to leave the house, especially if it's chilly, lol...I talk to my sister almost every day and she feels the same way and for her not to want to play bingo or cards, that's something....But, her family does visit which I don't go along with...With mine, when they bring something, we visit through the front door...They said, I don't have to quarantine but I just don't want anyone taking a chance....I told the kids I was going to paint a big X on my door like they did years ago....But, we will get through this, will be so glad when this year is over........

I'm going to try to go back and do some catching up and I'm really sorry to have missed the birthdays.....
But, I really, really do want to thank you all for the cards and special words..And of course the Pocket Prayer Quilts, they really, really mean a lot.....What would I do without all of you.......You've always managed to get me though those dark places......

Hoping you all are well, please stay safe......

I have lots of soup in the fridge so my dinner is going to be "souper".........

You all have a great rest of the day......

Happy eating.............Love you all.........
