SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Oct 24

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Oct 24, 2020 5:21 am

Good morning!

We're 44' and windy here. At what point does 'breezy' become 'windy'? 17mph winds right now.

Yesterday I did 5 loads of laundry and puttered in my sewing room. I have a dozen Christmas/Winter masks ready to sew in elastic and pleats. Today I'll cut and sew my tissue holders, repair my Christmas apron, and maybe make pillowcases for my younger sis, Teese. She loves John Deere and is a collector of everything. I have John Deere fabric and her birthday will be about 8 weeks after we return from Texas in Feb. I'll be ready!

BECCA - is life back to your normal now? Just you and CA? Will be keeping Hadlee in prayer for sure. Are the twins walking yet?

JANA - first let me say - I LOVE PINEAPPLE! I bet your supper last night was scrumptious! Sarah has bitten off a lot with her house! But it will be so nice when it's all done! I'm happy that Aaron got his flag back. We're pretty sure we know who stole ours and if we're correct, it probably went into the garbage. Sad. But not worth getting into a tussle about it in this day and age. Nice of those grandboys to come and help in your garden!

TINA - have you started painting yet? It really is like getting your room ready to bring a new baby home! Maybe you should just name your machine "Baby"! lol!

LORI - I missed (or forgot :? ) your reindeer quilt. Got a picture? What are the blocks you received for your birthday? My sis hasn't beat the storm yet! They are in Snowville, UT this morning, just south of the ID/UT border. Home is roughly 550 miles away and big snow coming to CO starting about midnight tonight, so they are really booking it today! I hope my sister's back holds up. She had a cortisone shot the day before they left home. Long hours in the truck are definitely not comfy! I'm hoping the snow holds off for them, yet praying it hurries up because of the fires.

Tonite's supper will be split pea soup with diced ham in it. Yum! And toast. Or could be biscuits if I feel ambitious, but actually, I prefer plain buttered toast with this soup.

What's the story in your kitchen?

I'm running through 😊
Mary, we're supposed to get down to 28 Monday and Tuesday, we just had a 90° day, crazy weather. Plants are coming in today.
Well I have my paint now so painting will probably start today.
Supper tonight is leftovers with added stew meat.

Good afternoon!

Crenda and her mom just finished the quick quilt. Stupid me did not think to check the edge we started with to make sure it was a straight edge - nope - gave us fits near the end, but it was a fall type camo print - hides boo boos very well! I now know for the next time that we use a sheet for the top or the bottom. At least my LA cooperated and didn't break thread all the time!

Mary - we are quite cloudy and the temps are dropping - so will be the snow tomorrow, so they say. Guess that it is about time to straighten the sewing, get what you are taking to Texas ready and pack up the RV. It will be grreat for you to see Autumn again.

Tina - yeah for new paint! I still have a wall down by my LA that needs paint. Originally in the basement plans, it was going to be a closet, but my LA frame was 2 ft bigger in length that we planned, so that closet was punted - but I still have enough paint to finish it.

Dinner - I am thinking something easy - banned noodle cassarole, or maybe if I find some ambition, ribs and a potato salad. Lots of potato dishes in the near future. Like Mary and her bag of beans! Ethan may be here or may not - we will see...

Still working on Minnie. Almost there - so close, but need to decide on how I am setting the blocks, with sashing, without sashing - design wall here I come!

My Relief Society class has been lengthened in time - rats! I liked the idea of only 20 minutes, now it is 30 minutes. This week is the test run for the other teacher - I am up in 2 weeks. I am not a fan of stress - Calgon take me away!

Well, Minnie awaits and Ethan is on his way down. He was riding his bigger bike and twice crashed on his way here - so he is on his old bike, but will not ride home on it, up hill, too hard he says.

Covid update - bridezilla's husband did finally test positive, but thank goodness the new baby tested negative and so did bridezilla. Another sister and husband also were around their mother - both tested negative. Still waiting on Kate's mom's test to come back. We last had contact on a week ago Friday with Aaron, before the MIL came over after being exposed. So it appears that we are in the clear from all this hulabaloo. Aaron and Kate have had no symptoms either. The girls too. Still a tad bit miffed!

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Mary, this is a picture I pulled off the internet of the pattern. It was fun and easy. I couldn't find backing at the LQS, so I'll try another one on Monday.

Funny how this weekend is cloudy and cool. Last weekend it was in the 90's. I don't know whether I should put my short and flip flops away or keep them out. I think it's going to warm up again.

For dinner we will be having homemade chicken noodle, veggie soup and corn bread.

Hi Everyone,
After having a Zoom class today, DH and I went for a much needed walk. Then it was what to fix for dinner? So I made my Fast Hash using O'Brien Potatoes and ground Turkey.
