SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Sept 27th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Sep 27, 2020 6:52 am

Good morning,

The news said last night that due to a geo-thermal storm (whatever that is) it might be possible to see the Northern Lights from here for next few days so at 0530 we took our coffee and our dog (no getting away without him!) and drove down into the harbor where trees weren't blocking our view to try to see - but no luck. Just clouds. But - No rain today! And it's going to be a sunny afternoon. I may get out in the yard and do a little clean up. We've had a lot of rain and wind which has brought down lots of leaves and small branches. Plus, I see some serious weeds, and what little yard art I put out this year needs to come back into the garage for the winter. But it's going to be nice all week long so I don't have to do it today. I also plan to work on "Whisk", the baking quilt. Yesterday afternoon, Al & Tina left after one final game of Mexican Train, and I got almost 2 hours in my sewing room - alone! Whoo Hoo! And a bit of good news for A&T, their son back in CO already has their old toy-hauler trailer sold for them for a better price than we ever dreamed they'd get. So that's one headache by-passed!

IRISH - oh no! so sorry to hear you've been possibly exposed! And your friend! I do pray she's going to be OK. And everyone else, too. And I'm really sorry you are losing out on the trip. I know you're disappointed about that. I am, too! And I wasn't even going! Guess the silver lining is you'll have time to sew now.

BECCA - I hope you and CA will both be jigging around the house again soon. Has Denise been staying with you through all this?

JANA - ouch! Hope your wrist is going to be OK. I bet Michael could do some basic cooking if you were standing over his shoulder, supervising! My sis has had a bad hand/wrist/elbow for about 3 months and was supposed to be wearing a brace, too. But most of the time she left it off though she used ice packs occasionally. She sees a surgeon when she returns to CO. They say one tendon has "disappeared" and one little hand bone as well. She may need surgery which might screw up winter traveling plans with us. How is it going with the MM Bow?

CAROL - so during your Zoom guild meetings, do you all sew or chat or ??

Our supper tonite is going to be leftovers of the pasta dish we had Fri night. New food will be in order for tomorrow. I saw a foil wrapped package in my garage freezer. I think my BIL put it in there but I don't know what it is - could be meatloaf or brownies or ???

I hope YOUR supper isn't going to be a foil-wrapped mystery!

We are going to my niece’s wedding this afternoon and dinner after.

Maryz-Everyone is in their own space. Sometimes it isn’t their sewing room. Yesterday we had one sewing binding, another removing paper from a six foot high paper pieced Christmas tree, a couple of us were making masks, one was taking pictures for website, some make blocks or work on appliqué. We share what we are working on and offer suggestions if asked. Some have been quilting a long time and others are beginners. Kind of like here or an in person small group. We do talk and a few sometimes talk too much.

Good afternoon!

Found a box mix to make a Cheese Cake Factory Salted Caramel cheesecake. So far it looks terrific and the filling tasted yummy before it went into the oven. I know, raw batter, but I am a taster, even if it is raw. Love cookie dough too. Me bad! The baked cheesecake is now hanging out in the refrigerator chillin' for a couple of hours. Then I can get my fork in it!

My hand/thumb is complaining today. Did too much yesterday, so trying to rest it. But of course I see my carpet that is in great need of being washed. Maybe tomorrow, to quote Scarlett O'Hara. It is a good week to do the carpet, all my kids are gone this week, so no tracking in dirt.

Dinner - piecing on what is here - chips, queso, cheesecake, other words, nothing healthy. Tomorrow.... we will be better.... LOL!

Mary - that quilt is fun. I did a play on words for my neighbor Christmas gifts. A pie potholder with a small whisk attached, with a gift tag that says, "we whisk you a Merry Christmas " I really like the Kimberbell patterns. I have several.

Becca - I knew that family would be there for you! You were the example all their lives, so they knew how to as the time came to help you. Happy to have your Washington family close to home again.

Carol - enjoy dinner out and the wedding too.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana
