SUPPER CLUB - Friday, May 15th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri May 15, 2020 6:35 am

Good morning,

I think it's going to be a pretty nice day here - upper 60's, mostly sunny. I will enjoy it because we have 4 days of rain moving in after today.

Well, the window washing folks sucked me in. I ended up spending all morning cleaning windows and as things tend to go, that led to deep cleaning, rearranging furniture, washing baseboards, and more. And that was only the living/dining rooms. I plan to do the big kitchen garden window today. I have to remove everything in it (plants, cookie jars, other stuff), take down the wire shelf, and sit in the sink to reach it all. And then wash all the dusty items that I display before putting them back up again. I'm going to need a sewing reward when I'm done with all that!

BECCA - glad the dr's office was with the program this visit. I'm sure there's been a bit of chaos for most medical offices while they try to shuffle patients, appointments, and new policies. I should to go for a blood draw next week and not looking forward to it.

LORI - yes, it was definitely nice to get a little fabric retail therapy! And I'm sure you enjoyed visiting with friends in their back yard. We're going to do the same later this afternoon. Did you get to the farmer's market and did you find all the things you wanted?

IRISH - I was laughing so hard at the scenario you painted for us of you putting a leash on your kitty! lol! And yes, I would probably be thinking long and hard about that trip, too. Planes are full of viruses of all kinds, even before this new one came along. And then a lot of folks riding together in a car . . . I think I"ll stay home, thank you. I expect a big surge as things open up. Just because they are open doesn't mean they are safe.

JANA - that recipe sounds good, but I'm going to have to translate comparable measurements! lol! I don't usually buy buttermilk so in the few recipes I have that call for it, I use regular milk with a dash of vinegar.

I texted Chickie last night. She is on a break from bonnets for now and is altering a couple of bridesmaids' dresses for a wedding that's coming up soon. Not sure how the wedding will be with the quarantine rules but I guess there will be bridesmaids in beautiful dresses!

Supper tonite might just be salad. We are invited to our friends with the koi pond for an outdoor happy hour visit. There is usually cheese/crackers/nuts/fruit/etc to snack on when we get together. So no big meal is necessary. But I might make us salads before we go so when we come home we can just add dressing and enjoy.

What is suppertime going to hold for you?

Mary, I see you go sucked into the window washing group. It's on my list, but I have other things ahead of that. Yes I made it to the farmers market. There were only 7 vendors, but I was able to get what I wanted. Cherries, strawberries, apricots, carrots, garlic, honey and few other things. The fruits are so wonderful. I would much rather buy directly from a farmer than a grocery chain.

Becca, where are you going to travel?

Later this afternoon I'll be heading over to Shane and Danelle's for happy hour. I need to take them some masks I forget to give them when they came over last weekend. I finally got my order from FQ shop. I bought a kit for a lap size quilt. I'll work on cutting that out this weekend. I got part of the borders on a quilt last night.

For dinner will be spinach salad and left over chicken.

Have a lovely evening.
