SUPPER CLUB - Friday, May 8th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri May 08, 2020 6:18 am

Good morning!

I THINK it's Friday. If I didn't have chiropractor appts I would totally lose track of what day of the week it is! lol! We'll be 76* today and 80+* Sat and Sun. Nice! Today will be a mixture of masks, labels, swap blocks, and bindings. Maybe I'll get out in the yard a little bit, too. Our friends stopped by for an ourdoor, well-spaced visit and to pick up the five masks they asked for for their DD's family. All different fabrics and she couldn't choose so she asked if she could take them all - 18 - to her Dd to choose. No way! I'd never see them again! The DD lives 25 miles from me and 40 miles from her parents. So friend made her choices and after they left I noticed she took 8 instead of the 5 she'd ordered. Sigh. I'd make a hundred if she needed them, but to sneak them left me with a sour feeling.

JANA - kids have mystery diseases sometimes. I hope the doctor can figure it out soon. Does she have a rash? Will you get your tote finished today?

BECCA - is everything opening in your state today or is it going by stages? Things here are opening in phases. If our numbers go up, we go back to previous phase. I think most will be open by May 31, but some stuff will go possibly to mid-July. Nice that you have storage for Levi. We stored Lee & Lara's stuff in our shop, too, when they moved - almost 20 years ago. They had to be out of their house a week before they could move into their new one.

IRISH - snow?!?! You know, my brother in AK is having temps from 64 - 80 degrees this week. And now we all know why my grandparents moved away from NY/PA! I guess if you really don't like your sofa table there are a ton of folks who do and you can give it to them! lol! A small grill will be nice for the summer days coming up. Any eagle reports? We had a mama bird nesting in a wreath on the side of our house, but suddenly she's gone and there are no eggs or babies. I figure she either got tired of the garage door always opening/closing and moved away or the crows made a raid.

LORI - yep, I got the raveled bunny all fixed up and I can't find any more loose threads. The label is almost finished and soon this project will be in my rear view mirror! We had a 1/2 hr power outage yesterday, too! We don't know what caused it. But I think Vicki thought we did it to her on purpose because she came out, glared at us for a while with her usual gestures and then started ringing her "energy clarifying" bell. And darned if the power didn't come back on then! I'm sure she thinks she fixed us and the power! I've got my tea party laying across the frame, waiting for Mr. Bill to load it and put some simple flowers on it. I'll probably have to wait for the next rainy day for that. And I think Joann's said they shipped my muslin, but it hasn't arrived yet. I hope it doesn't go the way of my iron! POOF! I have 4 orders in 4 different places. Guess I need to make a list to keep track!

I think tonite's supper will be pork chops on the grill, fried potatoes and onions, and a salad. I still have a lot of fresh broccoli. It's a good keeper, but it's also a BIG package! lol! I also have carrots and celery from Costco (also big packages) so I think I'll fix a veggie/hummus tray for snacking.

What will your supper be tonite?

Good afternoon!

I finished the tote - well, just needs to be topstitched - tired of being poke right now. As soon as I finish here - I will get that done and post a picture of the tote. It came out really cute, well, I think so! LOL! I changed out the piece I was unhappy with - made it with a different fabric than I first used. It is what it needed. I also made secure pockets on the inside for my phone and my key ring. It has always worried me that they could fall out. So I fixed that!

Dinner - banned and a salad. Still have a bit that needs to be cooked. Aaron snitched some when he was here yesterday. Kate is slowing becoming a fan of banned. She grew up eating banned from a can - no one should ever eat that, not even a little kitty! But Aaron is perservering and teaching the girls and Kate that it can be good, if cooked right.

Ethan and Sarah will be over later - as soon as they are done with their assignments.

I am out of fusible fleece - I use that in tote bags, so will have to order some from JoAnn's and some white thread - my supply is getting short. I love to use Guittermann thread, so I will see if I can order that.

Mary - My mom had a pouch like you made for Bill - it held her knitting needles. Sarah claimed that when my mom passed - Sarah keeps saying she is going to learn to knit - one thing she can't do! I can a tiny bit!

Becca - new normal will take some getting used to, but we will adapt! I have already learned wasys to adapt in all of this!

Well, better get the poking done, then I can wash and put away the one I have been using - it was my Christmas bag - has red snowflakes!

Stay Safe! I am still a chicken tortoise - not ready to go out just quite yet,

Hugs,
Jana

Jana, no one should ever eat that! It sounds disgusting. Can't wait to see your tote. I learned how to knit, but I'm not very good at it. I drop stitches all the time, so I just don't do it.

Mary, well at least they say they shipped your order. Mine is still processing. Same with my order from Fat Quarter shop. My order from QIAD will be here tomorrow. I also ordered some older fabric from ETSY for my Plaid Lodge swap. It's on the way and will be here on Monday. Yippie! Hope you get the muslin soon.

Becca, Yikes! Snow this late in the year. Bill is in central Illinois and he said it is cold there. He hate the cold and would be loving the weather we are having here.

I finished up some more masks. So now I have a batch if someone needs them. I'm going to quilt the Tea Party now. I have an idea of what I want to do with it.

For dinner is Pizza. I was going to make it on Tuesday, but it was way to hot to turn on the oven. There's a nice breeze today.

Have a lovely evening.
