SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Jan 31

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Jan 31, 2020 4:39 am

Good morning,

It's still dark but it certainly sounds stormy outside. It's been a wild and wet January here and it's going out the same. Ducks are happily swimming on the back lawn! We're starting to wonder if we'll be able to get our trailer out for our Valentine getaway in two weeks. We need the back yard to turn it around . . . On the plus side, daffodils are not just up, but in bud here!

I gave my neighbor her quilt yesterday and she loved it. I even got a hug! I didn't have a lot of sewing time after Costco. Always stuff to put away, and then I cleaned the fridge, and puttered in the kitchen. I lied to you yesterday - my chiro appt is today. I had my Thursdays and Fridays all mixed up. So that's today, but the rest of the day will be mine! I should be able to finish my sashing and start putting blocks together.

JANA - what kind of LA do you have? Ours is a Nolting. The frame is 11' and is on castors so we can roll it around, though the room isn't much bigger than the frame! lol! And the room is carpeted. And yes, I am getting a small recliner. They had about 4 sizes.

BECCA - I was laughing as I read yesterday's posts. JANA's hubby "loaded his pants" and then you said, "I have always drank a lot every day". I DID finish reading, however. :D And yes, we special ordered the furniture with fabrics to suit our decor. They said 8-10 weeks but I suspect it will come a little sooner. I hope you're starting to feel better.

LORI - well? Did you find your TV you were looking for? Sometimes impulse buys are a stroke of genius. Sometimes, not so much. lol! We've known for 2 years we wanted new furniture and we knew the pieces we wanted, but were waiting to finish our remodel of last summer. And for the bank account to stagger back into the black again. But have to say, until Wed, we hadn't even gone looking. We just suddenly decided on the spot. Now, of course, after waiting all that time, I can wait no longer! haha! I want it NOW.

TINA - are you almost ready for your gathering? Is it tonite or tomorrow? Glad you have the seating all worked out.

Bill asked our friend, Tex, if they wanted to meet us for a beer at the local watering hole late this afternoon just to catch up. They've been sick for a month and ready to come out and socialize again. So we'll probably get nachos or a pizza or burgers. And if we don't, we have enough baked ziti for one more meal.

How's your supper story going to read?

Hello ladies.
I think we are mostly in the land of the living now. Still have one sick and one so-so....drags out a lot when so many are here. We have been eating light, for sure. Lots of chicken soup, jellos, 7-up and juices....
No one wants much more than that.
We have to buy a new couch before JR's family reunion that will be here in June. His mom has it every 6 years, and it is her turn. We had the last one for her, as we have much more room. Just want it done and over with. Not really much of a problem, but it is a lot of work. Will have a few more than we do at Thanksgiving, but, guess we will be able to get 'er done! Anyway, am dreading looking for furniture. I am fairly sure that the dog we have the most problems with, on the furniture, is sadly on his last days. The kids boxer is close to 13 years old, and the past month, he is not doing well. So far, he isn't in pain, just having some major problems getting around. DD said just lasts night, that he was going to make her make choices that she really doesn't want to make.....
So, tonight, guess we may try some mac and cheese casserole, and maybe hamburgers for those that want them. Green beans and see how it goes.....Have a great day, all....Becky

Good morning from a chilly, dreary, waiting for the rain, SW. Pa....Rain today, some snow tomorrow and then back to spring, which is OK by me....

Mary, I just had the weather channel on and you really are having the rain and storms...What's wrong with moderation, right??? My daffodils are up but I'm hoping they hold off for awhile with the blooms...This has been such a crazy winter it's hard to tell what might happen (snow in July????) When I ordered my chairs last spring, I was really after 2 swivel rockers but as soon as I sat down in the recliner, I knew it was mine...Like you, being built low to the ground, it's hard to sit on furniture when your feet don't reach or the seats are too deep...The fellow told me, this petite recliner has become their best seller and in turn, I didn't have to get a foot stool...Baby Girl and I just love it.....Baked ziti really sounds good, might have to throw some in the oven....

Becca, hope you start feeling better...You're probably thinking, too much to do, need to be better, right? But rest is best.....Things will get done...(and if it doesn't, so what).....

Jana, Did your new shirt come? I have a feeling the excitement is building, right? I just saw, 2 young 49ers, went to the same high school down south and now are both playing in the Super Bowl...What are the chances of that happening? Every young football players dream....
I was thinking about you on Wed. I stopped in the Library and was asking about the knitters club because I wanted to bring some yarn..Well, there was another gal and she joined in, saying she'd like to bring in her's also...We stood and chatted for awhile and she told me, she doesn't crochet as much but loves to quilt...I've never met you or talked to you in person but I just felt, this was you...Love to meet up with people like that.....

Tina, And the excitement, fun will be happening in your house....Sounds like good company and lots of good food, doesn't get much better....

Chickie, I'm hoping the fur baby is going to be a permanent member of the family...And, after awhile, I don't think you'd have to worry about the dogs chasing the cat...That cat will show them who's boss and for sure, take over....And all those babies coming into your life, my heavens..Talk about life doesn't get much better....Love it!

Today's weather suits my mood...Nick left for Texas bright and early this morning and by early Sunday will be in England...I had told him, he had to be like Aunt Kathy and text me every leg of the trip so he started very early, "at the airport", "boarding", "window seat, yea", "luv ya", right up to taxing...Yesterday, we did have our little talk again about watching out for all those young British chicks and if he wants a girl friend, hop over the channel and get an Irish lass...He just shakes his head...But, it sure was hard letting him go, he is such a delight to have around.....
And along with Nick leaving, I took my realtor to see the house I'm interested in and was very surprised to be met at the door by his realtor...He had told me, he wasn't going to place it yet because he still had a few little things to do and would wait for me...So,other than being disappointed in him, that means the price just went up....My realtor was going to do some checking and then I'll make up my mind....I was just about ready to grab the cat and my toothbrush and move in, lol...But, I've said all along, if it's to be, it will happen.........................

Not sure what I might get into today...Could do a little laundry, could visit with my sewing machine or could just pick up one of the books I picked up at the Library....Tough to make decisions....
As for dinner, gee another decision....Poached egg and toast or a scrambler.......Almost forgot, the other day when I said I was having French pizza, it was French style bread pizza....I get 2 in a box, covered with goodies or plain cheese and 1 is perfect for my dinner....Didn't want you all to think I came up with some exotic pizza......

You all have a great day......Anyone interested in what the "ground hog" is going to tell us this weekend???

Happy eating..................

Good morning!

Short time here, I have a very dirty kitchen floor staring at me.

Dinner - I am thinking meatloaf and baked potatoes.

I have been blessed to meet Mary and Lori, both in person. Wish I could meet all the rest of you too, Irish, Becca, Chickie and Becky too in person. Maybe someday, especially if you have a long layover in SLC. Y'all are such fun!

OK, floor is winning,

Enjoy,
Jana

Maryz, It took me 2 years to find the dining table I wanted. I looked a lot of different place for that piece. Finally found it at Ethan Allen. We've had it for 22 years. Yes I did find a TV, but it's just a smart TV. I wanted a 4k, but they don't make them smaller than 42 inches, which is too big for the guest room. We also go a new computer. The Geek squad set it up this morning, It's really fast compared to our CPU that was 11 years old.

Becky, so sorry the kids boxer is not doing well. It's so difficult when our beloved furry ones get old. It just doesn't seem like we have enough time with them.

Irish, isn't it great to meet others who love the same things we do.

Becca, I haven't had a chance to sew yet today. Maybe this evening.

Jana, I've met a few people on this site too. It's like your old friends.

We just got back from lunch a bit ago, so I don't think we'll be having dinner tonight.

Have a lovely evening.
Lori 8-)
