So, what are you all going to do with your extra minute of daylight today?? This is a more exciting day than Christmas at my DB's house up in North Pole, AK! And he lives only a mile from Santa Claus!
Our rain finally stopped last night. Up until it started Thursday evening, we were having the fourth driest years on record here. Now we are one of the wettest! We could put the canoe in our back lawn and float around with ducks! But I think the most is over. JANA - you are right - I guess we DO deliver! To you, anyhow!
Yesterday I tried to run errands. I couldn't even get close to the post office and since the things I have to mail aren't for Christmas, they can wait. Then I tried to go to Safeway. Took me 12 min to go 1/2 mile and by the time I actually got into the parking lot I didn't have time to do my shopping and then reverse my route to get to a hair appt so I bagged groceries until early this morning. But then I couldn't get back out of the parking lot! Traffic was C R A Z Y! And we're a small town! I did make it to my hair appt and got a green streak put in. But my hairdresser got involved in watching a preacher show on her computer and I think left me to process a bit longer than she should have. My green is DARK! I know it will fade soon, but for now, it's DARK! lol! My grandsons will probably notice tomorrow night!
Today the Seahawks are playing the Arizona Cardinals. I gotta get my shirt and earrings on! So far the only games they've lost were where I wasn't "in uniform". I'm not superstitious. I'm just sayin' . . . . And I'll be sitting in front of the TV for the afternoon. I finished my wool applique TV project last night - Snowman's Tree Lot from Buttermilk Basin - so now I'm hand sewing all those yo-yos I made during the summer onto green strips of fabric. Then the strips will be sewn together to make a quilt. Not sure why - because I can, I guess.
JANA - I love that your kids are all such traditionalists. Your dinner sounds awesome! How do you like your prime rib? We're not big beef eaters here (though my DB, Jim, LOVED beef) but we all prefer it well-done which makes most prime rib enjoyers cringe.

BECCA - you are always busy, busy, busy! Did you bake your last things yet? I finally got Bill's oatmeal craisin cookies made. He prefers them over any Christmas cookie. I have a box of snowballs (Russian tea cakes) for each of the boys tomorrow night, but that's it. Since Alec is a baker, perhaps he'll bring some cookies . . . We can hope. But that's probably a case of the cobbler's children going shoeless! lol!
Tonite's supper will either be chicken noodle soup or a scramble. We'll see if I get to the grocery store and what falls into the cart. I need things for tomorrow night when our grandsons will be here so I better get someplace today!
What's cookin' at your house for Christmas Eve Eve Eve?
