Yesterday my laptop broke nearly into two pieces, three if you count the hinge that is supposed to hold the screen to the keyboard. So, since if it were a person, it would be in fifth grade this year, Bill decided it was time for a new one. So off to Costco we went! An hour later we were home with this new baby - a Dell. Maybe I should name her "Adele"? lol! Can't believe how much faster it is! I've been computing in the dark ages and never knew it!
Going to be a stormy day and night here. Our two grandsons were coming here tonite for our Christmas together but we waved them off. They would have to drive 60 and 70 mile roundtrips in the dark, wind, and rain, and we figured it was just better to postpone. So next Monday, Christmas Eve Eve, they will be here instead. So no plans for today. I think I might clean bathrooms and mop the kitchen floor. We've had no faucet for a week in the main bathroom. Started out as a leak (1/4 cup/hour!). But some parts were needed that Bill couldn't find so he decided to go with a new faucet and of course, it was out of stock and had to be ordered. I think, though, today is the day! Will be so nice to have the basin back in operating order, and all the stuff that goes UNDER it put back away.
In sewing news I have none. I did get out my QIAD pattern, Patches of Life, and considered some Christmas fabrics but got no further than that. I need some inspiration! I do need to make a baby quilt for a May baby. Maybe I'll start thinking about that. New baby will be my great great niece.
JANA - I love that you love trains! Seems like it's truly an inherited gene in your family! I have to be careful. I'd love them, too, if I let myself. There is a model train club in Tacoma and a guy Bill used to work with was big into it. They had a huge display of tracks with all the accoutrements - villages, countryside, stations, etc all set up at the Wa State Museum one year and we went to see it. I was fascinated! The lesson in Amazon packaging is interesting. I hope Stu still loves his job a year from now.
IRISH - yay for Tim & Kathy being there, but bummer that you had to drive in snow to get them from the airport. And that you were so wiped out from your stress test. And that you are starting a cold just when you need it the least. That could have affected the results of your stress test. I'd demand a re-take. But another yay for the pip! I hope it's an eaglet by now! Enjoy your visit and we'll see you when we see you! Be well.
BECCA - sorry to hear that your sweetie has a viral infx. I hope he gets over it soon - for both your sakes! No kissy-face! Just like you said - kissy-forehead only!

CHICKIE - did Daniel LOVE his cookie? And I hope all went well with Doyal's kidney US. Are you almost ready for your big family Christmas?
Our supper tonite is going to be chicken burgers and potatoes fried with diced green pepper & onion. And some raw veggies & hummus for pre-supper snacking.
And what can we get for you?
