Supper club -Dec 26

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Dec 26, 2018 12:07 am

Good morning!

I hope Everyone had as nice of a Christmas as we did. We did some FaceTime with Lara and family at home, had stockings, presents, and cheese fondue-All at Autumn’s. We got back to trailer just as dark was closing in. Hate driving in the dark around here because there are so many deer .

Today we will be taking down some of the Christmas things-packing them into a tote and putting them in the storage Space under the trailer. And I might stop by the chiropractor today or tomorrow. And I will probably sew a couple of blocks.

Jana, hooray for Santa, and the Christmas vintage book. You will love it. It is a fun project.

Velda, how is your week going with family?

Tina, I’m guessing you are going to rest today. A bummer about that Ham. Groceries are just too expensive to have them go bad on you

Chickie, how are you feeling? How many guest did you end up having yesterday?

Becca, did anybody stay overnight at your house or are you back to normal again With just you two? Does your one son still live with you or has he moved yet?

Irish, are you home?

I’m thinking supper for tonight will be meatloaf and mashed potatoes. But if Bill has another idea I can be persuaded to change that.

What’s happening at your house?

Good morning :)
Mary, glad your Christmas was great, ours was too. I'll be going for my treatment this morning and other than taking care of that nasty ham I'm planning on taking it easy.
I hope you all had a great Christmas too.
We're having leftovers all day today hehe, no cooking.

Good morning!

Lots of uglies to tame. The dust bunnies are leading a take over! So is the laundry! Almost out of everything clean! Dishes, clothes, my sanity! Michael is being a big help. We need to do a bit of rearranging upstairs and in the Batt Cave to be able to put away the new toys that Santa left.

I will have to cook today. I left most of the leftovers at Matt's - for them. I made mini turtle cheesecakes - a Pioneer Woman recipe - they are rich and yummy! And gave them to Matt's house to eat - so far I didn't gain any weight over the last month and maybe can lose some more. Down about 17 lbs since November. Not trying hard, just trying to behave!

Mary - what fun at Aut's - fondue! We I was single, many moons ago, my roommate and I would do fondue parties, cheese, oil, and chocolate!

Tina - I would be hopping mad at getting a spoiled ham, especially if I had no backup! Here, it is getting to be only the big box stores for us to buy from and the smaller stores are being undercut and run out of business. Frustrating! Utahns have a it doesn't matter mentality, I want it cheap, and so quality goes out the window. Drives me bonkers!

Well, everything awaits me to get done,

Hugs,
Jana

Oh, we got about 7 inches of snow last night.

Good morning! It’s quiet here today! I was up yesterday and got everything put together and made. We had 27, I think. It was a FULL house! It was great!!! My DD and DDILs are wonderful to help and clean everything up. I love those girls!

Jana—you have wonderful traditions! I’d love to be the Elf on your Shelf and watch it all! Hooray for your book! Dust bunnies are out in force here as well! Crazy!!! Congratulations on your weight loss!!! It’s hard to maintain this time of year, let alone lose! When I was a kid, we had neighborhood stores every few blocks. You got fresh meats and produce along with canned goods. Milk was delivered door to door by one of the several dairies in the area. Then came the bigger "super markets". Now they are even gone... W-M has pushed everyone out. It's sad.

I was in quite a bit of pain all of yesterday. I may have overdone in the prep work on Monday, but I think it was just the day of most pain after an accident. Today… I’m better… she said gingerly. I worked through some yoga this morning although there were poses I couldn’t do without pain—soreness, o.k. Pain—NO!!! I’ll be walking Ava with the Hooligans today. My neighbor and I got a walk in yesterday afternoon to take care of Choc.

Vel—your pirate cruise sounds like a fun time!

Tina—that’s awful about the ham! Sounds like the store wasn’t careful in storage. Glad you had back-up plans! I like the “take it easy” idea.

Mary—sounds like you had a delightful day! Deer are a road hazard here all the time, too. Rut season is the worst, but it’s become an all year thing.

Becca—know you had a wonderful time, too! Family is grand!!!

Today I’ll probably spend some time in my sewing room cleaning up all my scraps from the Christmas projects. Everything went over quite well! Now I’m working on plans for next year!

Dinner tonight will be leftovers. We have a bit of lasagna, and we have some ham. There are green beans. No one will starve here, for sure!

Bon appétit!

I know it's late to post, but I am waiting for a washer in laundry, so I have a few free moments. Our pirate cruise is delayed until tomorrow. We had high winds today. I will report about it later. Oh I am enjoying their visit sooooo much. It is very crowded, but we all get along, and nobody is fussy. We make due!! Will give you full report later. Made BBQ/ sloppy joes and froze it, so I just heat that up tonight. Hugs to all,. Vel
