SUPPER CLUB - Monday 26 November
Good morning! I forgot to get here yesterday. I got busy doing laundry and making mints, and… “poof!” Lots of mints were made, and I hope to finish today.
It’s Cyber Monday, and I’m doing my best to keep my itchy fingers to keep from hitting “Send” or “Order”. I was a good girl and spent nothing on Black Friday. I keep telling myself, “Self, refrain. You need nothing. Use what you have and be grateful you have it.” Still… bargains are to be had. “Self, don’t even look!!!”…
Irish—your breakfast sounds delightful! Oh, a wedding in July! We have had 3 here in less than a year. I think the zoo will be a fun venue. I need to try to crochet some towel toppers… one of these days! LOL!!! How is your weather? I see lots of snow and cold. I empathized with you yesterday when we had blizzard conditions here.
Shirley Mae—It’s one thing after another when we get to “that age”! You have certainly had your share. Everything always happens on holiday weekends, too. Best wishes for some relief this week. I thought of you in the storm! We had less than an inch accumulation, as we were at the southern tail end of the storm. The Kansas governor declared state of emergency. I’ve been feeding my birds as well.
Jana—you asked about DH… he is doing well. He has lost 70+ pounds and feels real good. No more ER trips. I think he learned his lesson about drinking water and is trying hard to keep hydrated.
MaryZ—Sounds like you are having a great time! Hope the neighbors didn’t call the law on the “home invasion” by the football watchers. How nice to have a place to spread out and watch a big TV.
Becca—Know you are busy as always!
Tina—are you getting bad weather? You and Jana keep sending me cold and blustery stuff.
MaryRN—hope to see you at the table again soon!
Linda—are you traveling?
Today will be Choc walking duty. At least we are to eventually get to 40 degrees today. Who knows, the hooligans and I may decide to walk. They are so full of energy, although the cold doesn’t bother them like it does me. I had dog yoga this morning with Boomer helping me with my poses. I don’t have Ava today, as he is going to Doggie Spa for a cut and style. It will be Choc and Ava tomorrow.
Dinner tonight… probably something with turkey… I also have some broccoli salad.
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday 26 November
Good morning!
Today is brigt, sunny and vold, but what else, winter is at the doorstep!
Sarah is on her way over. We are shipping a box to Daniel. It is Karlie's BD on the 30th. I already sent her present earlier. This is a advent calendar that by the time it is Christmas, the whole story of the Nativity is done. Cute little felt pieces of camels, sheep, stars, etc, just right for a little one who turns three. Also a fancy Christmas dress, that is a Grandma tradition. Sarah used her Cricket to make a decal for the motorized jeep that Karlie is getting from her parents. A license plate that reads - K-Rex - her nickname - she loves dinosaurs.
Dinner tonight is noodles. It appears that Aaron sold their extra car. We will need to pick him up after work from the tire shop. Kate started her first day with the fire departnent, so the girls will be with Aunt Sarah, then here for dinner. Sarah lives having some girls to fuss over!
A new Ethanism today. Sarah makes noodles too. She gathered the bones from several friends and is canning the broth. Stu wanted noodles before he went back to college yesterday, so Sarah made a batch for their dinner. Ethan knew they were having noodle soup and looked in the pot and wondered where the meat, carrots and noodles were? You see, these noodles is just broth and noodles, nothing else. Sarah reminded him that he has eaten this many times and Ethan just argued, no he hadn't. So when he saw it done, he was a very happy boy - you see, he loves pastas and gravy, so that is what he thought he was eating. So he now calls noodles, pasta and gravy! Silly boy!
Well need to get going, pies to make and noodles too. The broth was done yesterday and stayed in my extra refrigerator - my deck in the winter - it was 18 last night, colder than in my real refrigerator!
Need to get going,
Enjoy!
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday 26 November
Good afternoon from chilly, soggy, SW. Pa....It's not real cold but I've heard it's coming...But, I guess this is winter, right???
All the hunters were hoping for snow for the 1st year of deer but around here it's just rain...Maybe northern parts have snow and they can just keep it up there.....Not many states have "declared" the Monday after Thanksgiving as a holiday but here in Pa. the kids are off school and a lot of companies give their people the option...Banks and PO are open.....
Becca, so happy to hear your "trip away" was a good one...I've been thinking of your DH and wondering how he fared...My family also talks about me moving but I really don't want to hear it, yet! When the time is right, I think we'll know......
Chickie, I had been talking to DGS, Stephan, the one who is in the Air Force in Kansas and he doesn't care for your wind, lol..I did have to laugh, how come when they live close you can't get a word out of them but let them move away and they won't shut up??? Does make me feel good to think I might be missed, just a tad, lol....And I too have been wondering how your DH was doing...I so really want my DDIL to consider that surgery but I don't want to talk too much about it and hurt her feelings..
Jana, you have me so hungry for noodles but I know I'd be disappointed because they wouldn't be home made like your's....Any left overs, just put them in a container and slip them in the email.....Left overs, who am I kidding, right????
Today being dreary is a stay at home day....You know it's time for laundry when you're down to the last clean pair of undies...But, as Chriss said, either go buy new or turn them inside out....But, the washer and I are doing a dance or 2 and also just finding little things to stay busy....
For my dinner, just not sure...Might make my chicken pot pie and get rid of all the left overs, maybe......
You all have a good day..........
Happy eating.............

Almost dinner time. Oops! I been busy sewing at the clubhouse this afternoon. Did exercise in AM, then grocery shopping. Then craft time in afternoon.
We still have turkey left over. I cooked a 6 lb breast on Saturday for ourselves. We like enjoying leftovers for a couple of days. I have to cut up some lettuce for salad to go with gravy and turkey over biscuits and/or toast.
Hugs everyone. Vel
