MONDAY - 14 MAY SUPPER CLUB
Good morning! It was a super busy weekend, but it was wonderful! Mom loved her placemat and napkin I made from Mary’s scraps. It was purrrrrfect! Thank you, Mary!!!
After I got home from the store and town, I put groceries away and planted a flat of begonias and pulled weeds. My DD called and asked if they could camp in their camper somewhere on our property with electricity. They did this spur of the moment and couldn’t get into the lake campground. Of course, I was delighted to have them, and they came and parked in the yard where Mary and Bill park. We had a campfire and made s’mores using DH’s pitchfork to hold the marshmallows. The kids really enjoyed it. The stars were beautiful, and DSIL even got a glimpse of a shooting star. In the big town (small city) where they live, the stars are barely visible.
Yesterday, the kids got up early and had breakfast while DH was at coffee. Meanwhile, DS2 called and invited us to brunch. DH and I went to brunch, and DD and family went to the lake so the kids could swim at the sand beach. They had a blast making sand castles, swimming, and burying each other in the sand while we had brunch with DS2 and family. DS1 and wife gave me a beautiful fern for the porch—we saw them as we were going over to DS2’s. (Everyone lives within 3 miles, except my DD and family.) Later DS3 came by and wished me a Happy Mother’s Day.
We all had dinner together late yesterday afternoon before the kids went back home… picnic fare—such fun!
And… the fun ends. Rental. Mowing. DH received a nastygram certified letter from the city on one of the properties—the biggest, of course. Well, he slimed out, so there will also be clean up and disposal this week. I dread it. We will be going to town in a few minutes.
Dinner here… I’m not sure… more of the same, I guess.
Bon appétit!

Good morning
I don't have my glasses on because I just finished vacuuming and mopping and I'm cooling down so there might be type o's.
Chickie your mother's day sounded deeper nice!
I didn't make it on at all yesterday, the kids and grandkids came over and it was a busy day..It was also a hard day; first Mother's Day without Mom, I really miss her, poor Dad was crying too and when he called me then we were both crying together.
The kids made tacos for supper and Dad came for a short visit so he could see everyone for a little while.
Tonight I'm making burritos and we have salad.
Well my break is over, on top dusting.
Tina

Good morning!
Back to the land of the living and all the uglies that is included! LOL!
I always thought that I had a smalll or normal size family - then I started realizing that I had to buy double the normal size of place setting, chairs, placemats, etc - nope - it has gotten quite large! Love it!!!
i have the uglies going upstairs and will change them in awhile. I am in the Batt Cave, pressing and sewing on my Sunflower quilt. But first, I have to post our checkbook - seems I have been on a buying spree! The playset delivery company called this morning and the set will be delivered on Wednesday - that is not June 5th - so my car will end up in the driveway for a time. Michael is now going through the safety bug he always does - so I will be patient until he calms down. Being responsible for 500,000 lives daily for more than 40 years, safety becomes ingrained.
Dinner - still eating light - chicken something and a veggie. I have been on a kick of making my own croutons from leftover soughdough or ciabatta bread. They are so easy and very addicting to munch on just out of the oven. Crunching on the outside and chewy on the inside. It almost takes me more time to cut up the cubes than they do to bake. Right now i make garlic parmesan olive oil flavor.
Chickie - I hope that the weather cools off for you to clean up - it has been cold here - high 30's - so maybe that will get to you this week.
Becca - love your flowers! Slowly mine are getting in!
Tina - I can't spell, even with my glasses on!
Everyone else -Enjoy the day!
Jana

Re: MONDAY - 14 MAY SUPPER CLUB
I think we will have avocado and a pickled egg, and fruit, and some leftovers. It is very pretty, today. I ought to be mowing. My honey is tired after his first day back to work. My girls are happy, when we cme home. DD1 (Dear Dog 1) lol wanted to come along for a ride. But her daddy distracted her with supper. DD2 was running around all happy about supper, too.
This evening, I will work on a churndash block for the outgong president of our guild. Need it for Thursday. There is a speaker coming to guild, this month, wo will be teaching classes on Friday and Saturday. I am going to the Saturday class. Mom is going to both. They are doing drunkard's path on Friday, and how should I quilt this on Saturday.
Tina, I was missing Grandma, this year. I can't imagine what it will be like when I am missing Mom. My Mother's Day is bittersweet, because we never could have children of our own, but there are many reasons to celebrate it.
Becca, I'll bet your flowers are awesome. It is warmer, here, today, than it was over the weekend. Supposed to rain, again, tomorrow, and then sunny Wed. It is time to plant at my house, too, now.
Jana, it is great having a big family. My Dad is one of 11, and on my Mom's side they keep close with the second and third cousins. The Calhoun reunion was always on the sunday after my birthday, and my great grandpa in my mom's maternal side lived to 102 - so there was lots of family to see.
Chickie, renting is so fun. My Aunt is not getting a lot of hours at work, so she has no way to pay the rent. Never rent to family. We knew that, and did it , anyway.
Have a sunny day, whereever you are!
