SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, March 31st (Easter Eve)

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Mar 31, 2018 3:19 am

Good morning!

Chilly morning here! 35*. But we'll be about 65* later today. We enjoyed tasting wine at 3 wineries yesterday but even more was the fun of the countryside. All the orchards and vineyards are waking up from winter. Blossoms are everywhere, birds singing, and lots of calves cavorting in the fields. Every single one brought CHICKIE to mind!

Our friends, Marc & Sherri, arrived about 4pm. Turns out he has to be in Yakima for work this week anyway, so they came early. Our invitation was fortuitous, they said. Got them moving and out in their trailer. And they did enjoy the supper we made last night - grilled chicken, hashbrowns with onions, salad, and strawberry shortcake. Sherri just ate the berries but the rest of us enjoyed the whole dessert.

CHICKIE - glad your sis is doing so well. Hip replacements are making great strides. A friend had one last March and she was home the next day. My mom had one in the late 70's. It was a huge surgery and she was in hospital for 10 days. Sounds like Doyal's surgery is coming up soon if he got broth last night. Unless he's prepping for a colonoscopy. Looks like no big Easter dinner for him! Glad you have some new, healthy calves. Did you ever name Timi's new little chocolate one? Oreo?

BECCA - sorry to see another K-Mart go down. The one here in Yakima is closed now and Tacoma's closed 2 years ago. Is your family doing anything special for Easter?

BECKY - so did you get your special evening alone with JR last night??

Today, we'll have one last day of wine tasting with our friends and then they are making chicken fajitas for supper. It was too windy/cold to sit outside last night, so I hope tonite is more pleasant.

Wishing you a happy Easter Eve and a blessed day tomorrow.

Hello ladies,
A gloomy ole day again today, and tomorrow, they are calling for 3 - 5 inches of snow in the afternoon. Chickie, are they calling for any your way? you would probably get it before we do. Just puttering today, got my bed stripped and cleaned off, and under, JR went to town a bit ago to pick up a new one for us. Alex, our oldest grandson in meeting him there, and then coming out to help him put our old one in the basement and to put the new one in. It will work in the extra bedroom he wants to put down there, someday. Ha...
Nope, did not get an evening last night, JR went to help his BIL put in a new water heater at his niece's restaurant....so, I had a nice, quiet night....not all bad....ate some leftovers, took a bubble bath, and vegged out all night....Was nice.
Tonight, we will have something with hamburger, or something. The girls and Shannon are prom dress shopping today, so no telling if they will even make it back in time to eat, or a lot of times, they eat while they are out....makes for leftovers, for sure....
You all have a great day....Becky
