Psalm 132
God had given David a sense of calling and divine destiny, and David had a covenant relationship with Him. He was committed to fulfilling God's purpose in obedience.
Just as David had a passion for finding a dwelling place for God in Israel, we should have a passion for finding a dwelling place for God in the midst of all the peoples of the world. Our desire should be to see the gospel planted that the nations would know their salvation is from the Lord and they could worship Him with joy. That is God's desire and purpose, and it should be the focus of those of us, like David, who has the privilege of knowing Him and having a personal relationship with Him. But it is evident that we will never devote ourselves to that task until we are driven by a passion, such as David's, that superseded our own comforts. God will not dwell among the nations until we are willing to forego personal ambitions and dedicate ourselves passionately to that purpose.
I ask you to keep my DH in prayer as he prepares to take a mission trip to the Philippines this summer. Pray that he may reach those who are lost and unreached. Pray that we are able to get his passport and ticket at a reasonable cost and that God's will not ours will be done.
Hugs and Prayers
