Psalm 119:161-176
As the psalmist reaches a conclusion, he reflects that to know and follow God's Word is like discovering a great treasure. It causes him to hate and resist falsehood. It gives him great peace because with a pure heart he can live before God with openness, honesty, and transparency Finally, the closing stanza is an antiphonal expression of supplication and response based on the fact that God Teaches us His statues, His commandments are righteous, we have chosen His precepts, and His law is our delight. Our desire should be expressed by the seven components of the psalmists concluding prayer:
1. Hear my cry.
2. Give me understanding.
3. Receive my supplications
4. Deliver me.
5. Let my lips utter praise and sing Thy Word.
6. Let your hand be ready to help.
7. Let my soul live that it may praise Thee!
