SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Day!!
Good morning!
We have a white Christmas!! It's less than an inch and will probably be gone by late morning, but we'll take it! Only the 4 or 5th in my 66 years! A Christmas gift!
Bill and I have no plans for today except to open a few gifts from each other and enjoy a ham dinner. Our family was all here yesterday which is a good thing because snow started just after they all got home yesterday. Roads are bad this morning. We had a very nice time. We draw names in our family plus we do a white elephant. My son brought a card game, White Reindeer, that adds an element of fun to the white elephant as you draw gifts according to what your cards say.
BECCA - I'm so sorry to hear that you lost another brother - and on Chrisstmas! Again. My heart aches for you and I'm sending you a big (((hug))).
JANA - I can only imagine the scene at your son's house with the new puppy! It almost makes me want to go out and get another puppy! Almost. Not quite. ;o) Tell them - every two hours, night and day! Outside to the designated potty spot, and say whatever word they want to associate with 'potty'. She will be trained in just a couple of weeks and will ask to go out after that.
TINA says they stopped all of her mom's meds. She is still on a vent but isn't waking up - as of yesterday evening, anyway. Unless things change, Tina will be spending today with her kids and grandkids.
CHICKIE - I know you are having a houseful today. We'll see you when we can. Hug the Hooligans for me!
IRISH - I think you said all the family is coming to your house for breakfast this morning. Hug your Hooligans, too!
BECKY - I'm hoping you don't have to work today and your family is all with you!
LINDA - hope you are having a white Christmas up in Yosemite!
Our supper will be ham and baked sweet potatoes with peas and a big salad. We might eat early just because I like holiday meals to be early. BEcause that's how my mom did it. It made them special. Though now, I'm wondering if she didn't do it just so all the guests would go home earlier! lol!! That mom! She was a hoot!
Merry Christmas to you all!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Day!!
Merry Christmas!
I got the best Christmas present, one that I'll bet no one else got - a brand new toilet! For the Batt Cave bathroom. We will never need to come upstairs again, Santa also brought a microwave for there too. So there is food, freezer, microwave, bathroom and sewing! What else is needed! ROFLOL! Except for a trip to the LQS for fresh supp, ies.
Dinner - we have leftover prime rib. I had enough planned for my niece and nephew, but they went up to Sandee's brother's home, hence enough for dinner today.
This litttle elf needs to get busy and clean up a kitchen.
Becca - I am so sorry for your loss at this time. Losing a loved one is difficult at any time, but at the holidays seems to add something more. Many prayers for you and your family.
Love,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Day!!
Hi, late at night to be posting. But wanted to say HI and Merry Christmas to you all. I know everyone ate "something" today. We ended up with some ckn helper with spag in it. Not too bad for something in a hurry when not hungry.
We were supposed to go to a nice family brunch sat over across state line in KS. Didn't get to go. Rod was in ER for 6 hrs fri night. Not much sleep, too much pain, and I had had flu most of last week. Just didn't feel up to a huge and didn't think Rod could make it thru the line anyway. Could barely walk again and was back using walker. Changes from day to day.
WE did celebrate Christmas a few wks ago down in Branson at a dinner theater on the Branson Belle paddle boat. But wanted to do something together this weekend.
Felt really lonely. Kids all texted and some called but they are in 4 states and DGKs are in 6 states, so many way far away.
Then son who lives here called to see how we were feeling. He ask if they could come by for a few hrs this afternoon, bring a big apple pie and ice cream and see us on Christmas.
What a delightful surprise, visited for several hrs and left the pie and ice cream when they went home. Best kind of leftovers. So this turned out to be a nice day afterall.
Hope your Christmas was filled with love and family and happy Memories.
Becca, sent you a PM. So sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. My heart just aches for you and your family. May God bring you all comfort and peace in the days ahead.
Love hearing about things like new puppies and family gatherings. We did have a white Christmas after they told us we would not. Surprised the weather people. More headed our way again tonight. Glad we can stay in and just enjoy all the birds at the feeders thru the windows.
God bless you all today and always, Again, Merry Christmas to everyone. Sending hugs and love to all around the world. Shirley Mae

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Day!!
Merry Christmas everyone. We had a good day. ...a little hard spots but it was mostly good. Mom is opening her eyes more and moving one of her feet. She's still not squeezing the Dr's hand when they ask her, maybe tomorrow. They said because her kidneys shut down that it's taking longer to get the sedation meds out of her system. I'll try to let you all know tomorrow.
I hope you all had a very good day.
Tina

Tina, Good to hear that your mom is doing some better. You have been thru so much lately and holidays are always hectic anyway. Having someone so ill in the family takes a toll on everyone, trying to be two or three places all at once. How is your dad holding up under all this?
Please know you and your mom and dad too, are in my prayers and the prayers of so many others on this forum. May God send angels of support for you tonight and all your tomorrows too. May you be surrounded with hugs and comfort and peace and the support of others. And don't forget to take care of yourself too so you can be there for your family.
God bless you and all your family tonight. It is heartbreaking to watch a loved one go thru all this and you feel so helpless. God is at your side and HE will be with you thru whatever the future brings for your family. Sending lots of hugs and continued prayers for you.
Love across the miles, Shirley Mae
