Supper club - Monday, April 17

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Apr 17, 2017 3:37 am

Good morning!!

As you may remember, my DD#2 manages a library in Austin TX. The library has an art show coming up this summer. For this show they want to paper the walls of their 30' x 30' community room with hand made postcards in any medium from all over the world. She asked me if I would like to make some quilted postcards and send them to her. I have made many of them and they are fun, quick, and easy. And she asked me to invite all my quilting friends to make some too. So if this sounds like an interesting project to any of you, please PM me and I will give you more information. Postcards are to be 4 x 6" and after that it is all your own creativity.

We are in Yakima now and enjoying some relaxing time. Weather is good. Today we will visit several wineries and have lunch somewhere. Scotty gets to go because most wineries allow dogs, and some even encourage them!

Tina, you probably had a better day with just those who WANTED to be there and now you have leftovers for next few days. Win! Win!!

Becca, your ds came for dinner, didn't he? Alone Or with family?

Jana, I know you had a great time with all your wonderful family!

Irish, did you get to spend the day with Terry?

Chickie, I know you had your crowd of usual suspects for a big brunch. Bet you were glad to put your feet up by day's end. Did blackie and lint get special Easter milk?

Our friends are making dinner tonight. Buffalo stew. Bill and I aren't enthused about that but guess we will suck it up. Literally.

Whatever you have tonite for your supper, I hope you like it!!

Good morning :o)
This is my last day off of the 4 day weekend and I'm planning on enjoying it by sewing and just goofing off :o) I am doing a couple loads of laundry so I don't get behind.
Yesterday was a good day and we all seemed to enjoy it :o) and my older brother and SIL did come and helped eat some of that food and the took some to her mom :o) The last of them left at 9 and I was sooooo tired all I did was sit and put my feet up! But the good thing was that the kitchen was already cleaned :O)
Today will be leftovers :o) I'm not even sure how much we have but when I get it out tonight then I'll know what is what :o) and how many days we'll be eating leftovers or if I'm going to freeze some.

Good morning from a very sunny SW. Pa. with gorgeous blue skies and warm temps...And of course lots of green...It seems, all at once, we have green.......

Mary, so glad to hear you were safe on that sand bar and now safely on your way to another adventure...Wine tasting sounds like a super adventure to me...And just a bit of news, have you heard about the bug, I believe it's called a Lantern bug, that is attacking the vineyards? Our Jackie gave us a lesson on bugs yesterday and this one is quite nasty, especially for the wine growers...It does look like a very pretty butterfly but very bad....So my advice would be to drink or buy all the wine you can now to avoid this bug! And feel free to have my share.. And the other day, you had mentioned salt as a cause for kidney stones, is that for sure? remembered that bad back I complained about, well, must be the season for kidney stones...A big ouch!
I think you and Bill have endured enough from the neighbor and I understand why but now I think I would be more upset with the family...I honestly can't understand how they can't do something, just doesn't make sense...Maybe they are depending on you to do the job for them....Such a shame...thank goodness you have someone checking your property....Happy trails..............

Becca, I checked out the pictures (again) and those babies are the sweetest, little ones I've seen in a long time...I can imagine you can't wait to get them in your arms....Hope your Easter was a good one and also hope today is even better.....

Chickie, are you taking today off and if not, you should! I know how much work it is for our bunch and I can only imagine what you went through...But, I also have a feeling, you really did enjoy every minute.....Put your feet up, pick up a book and relax (of course that's after you feed Lint and Blackie).....

Tina, Sometimes it's hard to figure out families, maybe it's best we don't even try...But, I hate to see you hurt by those who you care about....But, that potato soup is going to be appreciated (wish I lived close by)...

I've tried to post but my computer had other ideas..Yesterday I didn't even turn it on....We did have a wonderful Easter, lots of company, lots of food, lots of gabbing and of course lots of hugs...My morning started out terrible and I really thought about going to the ER but as I moved around, things got better and all at once, the pain was gone...Of course dummy me never put 2 and 2 together until later in the day and figured it had been a stone..Yep, talk about being dumb!

But, I do have a funny for you....Late Sat. afternoon, I told Jim we had to go for milk and a few other things...So, on our way to the garage, which is part of our basement, Jim pulled the kitchen door closed and it locked...I have a key to all the outside doors but guess who locked all the storm doors and, yep, you guessed it, no key..And to top it off, I had left my cell phone on the counter...Well, we went on our way and when we came home, I tried using a screw driver, not luck so, we pull out the big ladder, go around the house and put it up to the back porch roof and up I go...There is a little window in the landing on the 2nd floor and I knew that window was open...Picture, this old, chubby lady going through a 24" window, head first, landing on a sewing machine (thank goodness it was closed)...But, I got the door open and Jim was oblivious as to what had happened...I was just worried that the neighbors would see me, lol.....

But, today is another day and it's going to be a great day...Not sure what I might get into but if nothing else, I have a good book or a cross stitch project............

As for our dinner, there is left over ham, beets and eggs and scads of goodies............

You all have a great day....

Happy eating...............

Hello, my name is Eva and I am new here. I wish all of you a Happy Easter. I like sewing and sewing Quilts, until now I create three of them. Here in Germany sewing is a big hobby, but quilting is not so spreaded. I hope to get ideas and the technic for traditional american quilts and I watched the videos of Eleanor Barns. They are very interesting and I like to get more information of the historical background. Please excuse my mistakes writing english.
