SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Oct 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Oct 26, 2016 3:59 am

Good Morning!

We are having a stormy day today. Love it! Solid rain and 10-20 mph breezes. Love the sound of rain on the roof. An inside day for sure! What to do? What to do? Haha! Just kidding! We all know what to do with a rainy day!

CAROLE with an E - were you ever able to learn what happened to your neighbor? Though I doubt the authorities are sending you a report. I hope you didn't catch this cold through the computer. Though we caught it from my son over the phone and passed it on, again over the phone, to my sister and BIL in Colorado. So maybe . . .

JANA - oh, so sorry to hear about your thumb slice! What were you doing? Slicing veggies or fabric? I hope it heals quickly! It's the Christmas sewing season!

BECCA - did the doctors appointment for your DH turn up any new ideas on his pain? I've heard of some folks using a hot bath or hot tub to help with pain. Heat dilates the blood vessels, blood flows more easily and that can ease pain. Though I don't know how mobile he is as far as getting in/out of a tub. If this helps, even a warm shower might do it. For a while, anyway.

CHICKIE - I have a foot thing I was given as a gift a few years ago. For just such a thing as you have going on. I'm going to send it to you and see if it helps you. I never used it. But I did have plantar fascitis several years ago and it was a beast. Though it sounds like yours is worse than mine was.

Let's see - who's missing from the table? They are probably breaking rules and don't want to stop by and get in trouble! TINA, IRISH, CAROL without an E - Yoo Hoo!! Supper Club's ready!!

We had pasta again last night. I think tonite will be chicken with fried noodles & onions. We have leftover pasta and I love it fried up with onions. Salad and maybe green beans.

Have you got a plan yet?

Good morning :) here I am. I was sewing all day yesterday and got 7 lotto blocks all finished, I didn't watch the boys yesterday so had a me day and did I ever enjoy it :)
Last night we had chicken and rice and salad, tonight is ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans and salad. See I've been being good hehe
Sorry you're sick Mary, I'm about done with mine, just a small cough here and there.
Jana, ouch, I hope you're all better quickly.
Carole, we have tons of Bob cats here, we found 6 babies dead one day, it was sad and scary, what would kill that many Bob cat babies? ! Our son was coming home one day and a truck in front of him ran off the road to hit a baby Bob cat on purpose and Kevin stopped to see if it was ok, it wasn't and it was still alive, poor Kevin had to put it out of its suffering , he came home crying.
Becca, I'm sorry your DH is in so much pain. I hope you can't find something to help. I've been in horrible pain with my sciatic nerve for almost 4 years and started going back to the chiropractor and it is helping but very slowly. .. but I am noticing a difference :)

Well I better scoot, have a great day and enjoy your foods :)

Good morning! We had gentle thunderstorms starting early this morning. I love to lay in bed and listen to the rain. You can guess where I’ll be today, too.

This “foot thing” is crippling me. I hate it. I finally decided to walk anyway—just not as much as I used to and not until it hurt so much I needed to crawl. I think it might be working…

I think the fried noodles sound delish! … in butter …with onions—decadent!!!

Yes, it’s me… breaking the rules again… Well, you do want me to get it out of my freezer, don’t you??? Amberjack is what I pulled out for tonight. It will be blackened and grill pan cooked. I think sweet potato and salad will be the sides.

I think I’ll be getting some more provisions this Friday… Just letting you know… You’ll be banning me from the table one of these days.

Oh Chickie, you are in trouble!!!! Not only did you mention the banned food, you DESCRIBED how you are going to cook it. Bad girl, bad girl!! Hehe

Mary, the coroner did not send me a copy of his report. I did hear that Sharon (her name) had been dead at least 4 days. The husband is not staying at the house and says he will never live there again. So sad!

I am not having any banned food today. I am a good girl!! We are having steak on the grill, baked potatoe, veggie.

Have to run and go to Verizon. Can't get any emails on my phone and have a hard time staying on line on my iPad. We have an upgraded mii5. Better does not mean it works better. GRrrr.

Good morning!

I am better today. Didn't slice my thumb doing anything fun! I was cleaning up the dishes and reached behind something on the island to grab some paper trash and slid my thumb along the blade of my chef's knife, not seeing it laying there. The cut is much better today, as i can now use the area slightly with out pain or opening the wound again.

Ethan is off to preschool this morning, Kate and Gracie are at work, so i will head to the cave for awhile.

Dinner - i will look in the freezer and see what is there. Chicken for sure, just what i do with it is another thing.

If Mary has rain, it will be here in a couple of days.

Enjoy,
Jana

I stopped back by because for some reason I feel compelled to let you all know my chicken has morphed into baked pork chops seasoned liberally with lemon pepper. And here I find Chickie, always the rebel, giving out forbidden recipes!! Shaking my head here as I keep having to brush my cat off the keyboard. She is trying to read Chickie's post, I'm sure!

TINA - glad you got some Tina-Time! Chiropractic does wonders but it's a long slow process when you've been "out" for so long. Keep it up!

CAROLE - I don't blame the husband. I wouldn't want to live there either!

JANA - glad you aren't too mortally wounded. Knowing how you cook, I'm betting that chef's knife was sharp!

Well, back to my morning. Working on my Flo Flo cat. She's slowly coming together. Very slowly.

Good afternoon from a kind of dreary, very chilly, SW. Pa....It's only in the 40s and for sure, not my kind of weather.....

Mary, I did see on the weather map, you were having lots and lots of rain and it's really a shame you can't find some sort of inside stuff to do....I've been good, I think! Yesterday, was busy in the kitchen..You got me going with the meat loaf and meatballs....I figured, while I was playing with the ground meat, why no do it all....So, meat loaf was for last night and I put the sauce and meat balls in the crock pot and who knows when we'll have them....

Chickie, I have a feeling we all kind of know what you're going through with your foot, but your's does sound bad......Years ago, with mine, the doctor gave me exercises to do and it sure helped...My feet are very small but they sure do get in trouble, lots, lol....I do think Mary is pretty lenient about the banning part but you know, we're all trying for that top spot on her list, just sayin........And what in the world is Amberjack or shouldn't I ask? lol.....

Carole, with an e, Boy, you can't blame the husband for not wanting to live there, what a terrible thing to happen...We just heard about a friend of our Terry finding their daughter (31) dead in bed...Even with the autopsy, they don't have a cause...Too much sadness going around....I like your menu, sounds yummy......

Jana, Hope the booboo is healing quickly...Just goes to prove, housework is hazardous to your health or thumbs....Just be careful in the bat cave, don't break open the wound and get blood on any fabric....

Becca, Boy, I know what you mean about not worth cooking but every once in awhile, I just have to "go for it"...And there are times if Jim doesn't want to eat, I'll threaten to throw it in the trash and then he'll eat...He tells me, he's afraid he'll get fat, lol....But, it sure is terrible what these fellows are going through, your's with the pain, mine with being lost.....

Tina, I'm also glad to hear you had a "me day"....If anyone deserves those days, you do.....We don't have the bob cats, at least I don't think so, but still to go out of your way to harm them, is terrible...But, even though I grew up on a farm and my Dad was a hunter, I just couldn't grasp the whole idea of hurting or killing an animal, still can't....I remember hears ago, a young deer jumped out in front of Jim and broke it's leg...Jim sat in the middle of the road, cradling it's head until the police came and put it down..It really bothered him for the longest time...I think it says something for the person who would deliberately hit or run over any living thing.....Oh well, off my box!
Looking at everyone's menus, I'm getting hungry....We haven't had ham in while, so will have to add that to my list...

Today is a semi ugly day...I finally dug out the electric blanket and kind of rearranged the cubby hole....Jim's always worried, I might get stuck in that cubby hole and he won't be able to get me out, lol....Jim is having a bad day, keeps pacing and looking out the door, saying, "take me home"...It's really hard to reason with him when he gets like this but I try to change the subject or have him do something, right now, he's vacuuming.....I have a gal friend stopping down later for the Halloween costume she needed altered...She's leaving on Friday for Florida and needs it for a party down there...
And for our dinner, left over hot meat loaf sandwiches with gravy and maybe I'll make some home made French fries....A little pumpkin pie left over for afters..............

Happy eating....................
