You won't believe this, but yesterday I spent part of the morning getting Christmas gifts ready to take on the road this winter to my sisters and DD. I think my shopping is done! Between getting all that out of my quilting room, and the bags of stuff I had for my grandson's new house (he got the keys, finally!), it almost looks like a wasteland in there! Whoo Hoo! Our afternoon was spent hauling wood for Jim & Terry in our tractor from out behind the church. One big round at a time. In four hours, we got about half of it done. Have to go back next weekend. We saved the biggest ones for last so Bill will have to saw most of the rounds in half to fit them into the bucket. I'm the tractor driver. We travel on a narrow trail between the back of the church and a rock wall - 2" to spare on either side - and then up a grassy hill and across the playground to the truck. Jim sat in his wheelchair and watched the first load and just stayed in the truck the second load. But his spirits were good and his mind clear today.

Today is rainy so it will be indoor things around here - uglies, some elf-sewing, and we might go shopping for some small things for the trailer - towel bars, dish drainer, rack to hang chairs on the ladder, etc. Depends on what Bill has on his project plate.
IRISH - Where in the PNW is your granddaughter going? and when? We're starting our rainy season early this year. She may want to know. How great to get to travel to so many wonderful places! We didn't fare any better with our football yesterday. We taped the game and watched it last night. I knew the ending score but kept that to myself so Bill would enjoy the game. I've been thinking of Joanne a lot lately, too. Her RA got so bad that she had to all but give up sewing and any handwork.
BECCA - oh, I think we'd all love to be on that porch with you! But please! Don't make me try to knit! Been there, done that, more than once. I'm a dismal failure. But I CAN do a little bit of crochet . . . Sure hope they get your gas up and running soon! Guess this crisis puts a little brighter focus on electric cars, doesn't it.
CAROL - I'm so glad you are enjoying your genealogy I found my great-grandmother's name (a name I'd never heard before!) and I think she came from Germany and she lived/died in White Cloud, MN (very close to Mary Q) but she's a dead end. I can find no record of her death or burial. Just my GGF's remarrriage.
CHICKIE - Did you get to sew yesterday? And how did the FM quilting go? Those frixion pens might help to guide you on small projects. I did a queen quilt on my Bernie several years ago and my neck and back were killing me so badly afterwards that we went out, shut our eyes, and bought our first quilting machine. Just a short arm, but it sure saved the neck!
Last night I thought I was thawing the jambalaya, but instead found out it was some southwest chix & rice. Bill suggested we not bother to save the leftovers from the leftover leftovers. lol! Tonite I think I'll saute up some sliced kielbasa and an assortment of veggies. Maybe some fried potatoes on the side. and sliced tomatoes.
What's the plan at your house?
