Happy National Bald Eagle Day, proclaimed by Pres. Reagan in 1982....
Good morning from sunny, gorgeous, SW. Pa.....Right now, it's about 80 and going a little higher and we have a nice gentle breeze.....
Mary, another week to go and then back to reality, for awhile....Sounds great, being able to visit with so many sibs and friends......I had always heard, campers are a special breed and from hearing of your adventures, I'm believing it.....
Jana, thanks for the "heat warning" but I have a feeling, after it passes through Chickie's back yard, it will cool down before it gets to us...I'm quite satisfied with the temps we're having now....If it gets warmer, I might have to turn on the AC.....The 2 little girls next door are often out playing with the sprinkler and it's so much fun to watch and hear them.....Brings back lots of good memories....
Yesterday, we had an great day...After church and a big breakfast gathering, a couple of the boys and families came back to the house and we visited....It was a good time...And Cari is just beaming, won't be too long for this bride...They had just picked up her wedding band and showed me pictures, absolutely gorgeous...Guess this gram better start looking for a dress......
Today is goodby winter bathroom, hello summer pink...And in getting the right bin out of the cubby hole, decided, it was time to change the quilts on the beds....If I'd stay focused on just 1 thing, I'd be fine but oh no, let's have a couple things going at the same time...And then wonder why I'm tired, lol...
As for dinner, it will be something on the grill and maybe we'll be eating outside on the back porch...Nice and shady, just painted the wicker furniture and it looks pretty darn inviting.....I'm thinking chicken also, left over potato salad and I have those little cups of mixed fruit for afters..............Sounds like a plan!
Happy eating.............
Eagle update: The youngest of the eaglets in Ft. Myers is still in rehab recovering from his/her broken femur and surgery...Last week, he/she developed an infection at the break site and is being given high doses of antibiotics..Hopefully, there will be a good outcome and he/she will be able to be released....
The eagles near me have fledged but have not been seen since...Normally, they will come back to the nest and the parents will still bring food but not so with these 2...Parents have been seen, carrying food, flying up into the hillside so maybe the eaglets have found a new home.....There again, hoping for survival with these 2....Statistics show, only 50% of the fledgings survive the 1st year....
