SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 30th
Good Morning,
We did a little of everything yesterday - a little sewing, a little cleaning, a little RV packing, and even wrapped some Christmas gifts. Since I'm going to be seeing my sister, I'm handing off their Christmas packages rather than paying to mail them later. They can haul them home in their RV and store them for the next 7 months! lol!
BECCA - how are you feeling today? Everyone is correct about reporting your experience to the restaurant and to the Health Department. It might save others from being sick, too. Will you be feeling any effects from "Bonnie"?
CHICKIE - Glad Mother Nature is leaving you alone for a while. I'd have a piece of that pie . . . .
JANA - Happy Family Gathering today! I haven't had my entire family together in years. And there are only 10 of us!
I guess I'm going to have to come up with some supper for tonite. Hmmmm...... I'm thinking of homemade pizza. I have all the 'makin's' and it's just about DH's favorite. To be honest, my mind is more on what food to pack in the RV. I'm needing to plan meals with my sister and BIL as well pot-luck contributions to three different events at our RV Rally. So food has been on my mind the last few days. And all I have to do is think about it and then it goes straight to my hips. Sigh..
What's steaming up your kitchen window tonite?

Good Morning, Mary,
Today, our son wants to cook out for lunch and dinner. He did burgers last night and has brats and hot dogs on the menu today for dinner, still thinking about lunch. I suggested her bring the iron skillet out and do grill cheese. ???
I offered to make potato salad. They all love my salad!!
They got their pool opened yesterday, so it will be a splashing happy time around here today.
Hope everyone enjoys the day and still keep in mind the memory of those who have lost lives in service to our country. We all also take this day to remember our loved ones who have gone before us. We will be taking flowers to my parents cemetery. We did DH's parents on Saturday. The cemeteries all look so pretty with flowers, and flags.
Have a great day!!
Hugs
Vel

Good morning,
Dinner here is bbq ribs, salads, cake, goodies. Aaron is trying for the first time to smoke some ribs. I have a backup plan, in case his don't come out. He only gets one rack to play with, the rest I will do.
Mary - she won't peek for 7 months? Enjoy your trip!
Becca - glad you are doing better.
Enjoy!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 30th
Good morning from another steamy, sunny Sw. Pa...We're having summer weather and it's still considered spring, right? But, it's great! Yesterday we had a few rain drops and the temps dropped to mid 70s and I thought I was going to have to put on the furnace, lol.....
Mary, you did guess right on the Stanley Cup...It's the "world series of hockey" and that big old cup hopefully will find a home back here in Pgh....it starts tonight, here at home for 2 games then moves west...I've already refilled my heart meds...Yesterday when I told Terry, Kathy and Tim were going and liked both teams and didn't care who won, he said, you mean my "former sister"????? But, going to be a fun time in the "burgh"............
I do want to thank you for posting the recipe and will be making some "real" buns as soon as I get rid of the store bought ones(I'm sure the birds would appreciate some bun crumbs).....
So, when is this next camping trip happening? AND to already have Christmas presents ready, now come on! You're really making it look bad for the rest of us.....
Becca, I also agree, let someone know about you being sick...Sure hope you're feeling better today...Take care.....
Vel, nice to see you at the table and sounds like you're going to be having some darn good food...And I agree about the iron skillet and grilled cheese, yummmmy! Opening the pool brings back so many good memories...We had our pool for almost 30 years before we filled it in and it was great...There are times when I look at the empty yard and wish it was still there....Enjoy that splashing happy time.....
Jim and I went to the cemetery yesterday, just to make sure the flowers were watered and also to put down more mulch...The scouts had come through and put flags on all the veterans graves and it really, really did look special...Today, there is a big parade and it will end at the cemetery with a memorial service....I had kids in the band from 1973 up until 2 years ago and sat through all kinds of weather watching them march but now, I'll stay home and remember.....
Also, today, have the clothes on the line and hopefully dosome sewing...We normally go to Kevin's for a cookout but I told them we'd stay home....Not a good day for Jim and best if we're home....
For our dinner, I'm making potato salad and probably steaks on the grill....
Happy eating.................

Becca--the blackberry vines are loaded here this year as well... both the "wild" and the "tame". This rain is a good thing, although we have had only less than 1/4" a day. Last year the "wild" berries didn't fill out because it got too hot and dry (I got quite a few from more shaded areas--just not the open briar patch), but the "tame" ones got watered and I had a good crop. We also have raspberries, and they are looking pretty good as well. My favorites are the thornless "tame" blackberries--big and yummy and NO thorns!!! ... and, pretty much NO TICKS!!!
I have all my flowers picked and ready to go to the cemeteries when DH returns from coffee. Of course, he will probably want to eat first... food and coffee are pretty much his morning priorities.
I'm hoping for some rain this afternoon so I can have the excuse to stay inside and sew... My floors are already swept, so if it rains you know where to find me!
Tonight will be the (homemade) pizza from Saturday evening and a salad. DH will have his blackberry pie for afters.
Happy Memorial Day!

Hi everyone
You all sound like you're enjoying your day and having fabulous foods
I've been eating lite after being sick and then Saturday over ate and that wasn't good sooooooooo. .... LOL But good news is that my sister in law called me a little bit ago and invited us over to eat
so that's our supper.
Mom and Dad seem to be doing ok today, they are having a quiet day at the hospital. They found a few more things wrong with Mom but so far haven't said what they plan on doing.
