consumer beware

Post by scrapquilter48 » Wed Aug 19, 2015 1:46 am

Opened a cat tin with the tabs, washed it to throw in recycle bin, cut myself on the metal rim... Be careful! Of course I'm clumsy which doesn't help any..

But if you are diabete guess that could be an issue.

I hear you!!! Those pull tabs are very handy, but you do have to be very, very, careful.

I have one of those hand held can openers that open the can at the side, where the can is glued at the factory. It works so well and never has a sharp edge, but more and more cans are sold with pull tabs these days.

So it is buyer, beware!!! Be very careful!!

I have called a couple of the companies and told then, the rims were harmful to humans and if you let fur baby eat out of the cans as it may cut their mouth and tongue.

Not any empathy from them.

Cans with the pull tabs are hard to open with arthritic fingers! I have a can opener like you mention, Vel, and wil use it the next time. Thanks for the tip!
