SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, June 11th
Good Morning!
Busy day here - mending, laundry, and DGS's graduation - in that order. Tomorrow - shopping, cleaning, cooking for company - in THAT order!
The truck should be ready this afternoon. They said they won't charge us for the labor (since they already did it once and pronounced it ready to go!) and will discount parts. So now we're down to about $1200. Still a big ouchie!
LORI - Since you're new to our Supper Club, we'll let you slide this once - FISH (oh yuck! I can hardly type the word!) is a banned food. So is liver, for that matter, but that rarely presents a problem. If you must have it, we refer to such banned foods as "mac & cheese". Discussing banned food in my hearing (or sight, I guess) is grounds for being banned yourself. Now I have to go wash out my eyes!! lol!
VELDA - if you get here early you could always set the table for us! Have fun dancing tonite! Do a waltz for us!
IRISH - The Schwann's man! Yay!! We haven't heard about him for a few years now! I've missed seeing him through you.
TINA - a baby cupcake all for you sounds do-able! But do the baking while the kids aren't there! How are you coming on The List? BTW, I've had homemade pizza with cauliflower crust and it was amazingly good. and fits your diet! You can Google it for recipes.
JANA - homemade noodles sounds great to me! I remember mom making them, rolling and cutting them, and they laying them all out to dry on newspapers placed all over the furniture. (cats and dogs went outside that day!)
BECCA - what kind of pizza did you make? We used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce on ours, with diced chicken and green onions. some mozzarella and parmesan on top. I usually make my crust from at least half whole wheat flour.
CHICKIE - how are the bibs coming? The boy bibs were so sweet! Waiting to see the girls' . . . Did you get your LUB's finished because I see she posted more!
I have no clue about supper tonite since we are leaving about 3:30 for graduation. Will go to DD's in Bremerton (45-min drive) and caravan to the graduation from there. We don' know what the supper plan is afterward, if any, since there is a big grad party on Sunday. We didn't even know we were going to graduation until a few days ago! My DD isn't the best communicator . . . So my back-up plan is Bill will take me out on the way home if there's no family supper.
Do you have a supper plan yet?

Good morning,
Mary - graduation's are fun- just watch out you don't get your foot squished like I did! LOL
Noodles were great last night and Sarah left some here for our dinner tonight.
I don't dry my noodles, just use them fresh after I rolled them. Cheated last night - rolled with pasta machine, but hand cut them. I get into big trouble with the family if I do them all by machine. They want them to be "rustic".
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from another gorgeous, sunny, warm day in SW. Pa....This would be a good beach day is there was one near by...Would also be a good pool day if we hadn't filled our's in years ago, lol....Oh well, I have my porch and iced tea.....
Mary, Sounds like you have a full day...Graduations are a special time...And glad to hear the truck will be done but hate to hear you have to spend that much money...Don't these people know, quilters have other ways to use any and all extra money....Yep, Mr. Schwan (hopefully in his shorts) is on his way back, not sure for how long...It is expensive but there are things that Jim really liked and right now, I'm having a hard time getting him to eat so hopefully, this will help....
I really had to laugh at your post regarding our banned foods...Just the other day, 2 of my best friends told me, they both actually ordered liver and onions the last time they ate out...I couldn't believe it...Had I been with them, they would have had to sit at another table.....
Lori, we all try to be tops on Mary's "best friend" list so we just avoid or cover up those banned foods...What I think is funny, Mary lives in the Pacific Northwest, where she could have her choice of "mac n cheese", lol.....
Many moons ago, I worked for a doctor who had an office in Little Washington and every Thursday, we'd travel down Rt. 70 to that office...AND our Pirates won last night, great game!
Not sure what all I'll get into today...I do have laundry on the line and am thinking those weeds are calling (quietly but I can hear them)...And of course fighting with Comcast...I changed banks and even though they had the information weeks before billing, they didn't deduct their payment and now I have a double bill....I honestly don't see how they stay in business........Just thinking about them makes my BP go up.....
And for our dinner, it will probably be something on the grill...I would be satisfied with just a big salad but need to feed Jim...If it were up to him, he'd just drink his Ensure but he needs more than that.....Also should be baking something but not sure what.....So many decisions................
Happy eating.................

Hello everyone, sunny and hot here but not like some with 100 plus. Those I can do without.
Mary z I make half meat & half veggie for me.It turned out good. I even put some asparagus on this one.I usually add onions mushrooms, peppers, broccoli,.And cauliflower.
Glad the truck is getting fixed without excessive price.
Jana Your rustic noodles are funny although that is a good description.
Lori I laughed to myself as I read your post.Because of Mary.Never fear we all slip up sometimes.
After going shopping I picked up something for DH at Subway.Made me a fresh tomato sandwich.Does anyone on here make coconut macaroons? I would like a good recipe.I have seen lots but hate to try one untested.Let me hear if you have one. Thanks & happy eating...Becca

Good afternoon!
As usual, I’m late to the table… It’s hot, and I’ve been helping DH with loading hedge posts on the trailer. We are taking them to town in a few to meet someone to whom he sold the posts.
My DGD is coming this evening! I’m not sure if we will eat before or after I get her. If it’s after… probably pizza from town.
Lori—don’t let MaryZ scare you! She does mean it about the you-know-what, but we are clever. I happen to love our pond fruit (bass and crappie), and Jana has her PNW pink treats, too. Funny thing is, Mary and her DH were coming to visit here the first time, and I ALMOST served them pond fruit!!! Can you imagine how that would have gone over? Now, I’m much more careful and save the luscious stuff for those who appreciate it! There’s a lot of mac ‘n cheese served up on our plates, to be sure!!!
Becca—that’s how I make pizza here, too. ½ pepperoni, and ½ veggies of all kinds. I love coconut macaroons but I haven’t made them in ages… no recipe any more.
Irish—I really envy Mary of her location and all that FRESH good stuff!!! Baking??? Too hot here!
Jana—I roll my noodles and lay them out on a floured board covered with a tea towel or on tea towels on racks to dry. Your family would love mine… RUSTIC is definitely how my cutting comes out! I’ll remember that… RUSTIC!
Time to go deliver posts…

You're not the last one to the table Chickie LOL
I read Lori's post yesterday and laughed myself
) I just say I'm eating banned food all the time hehehe but I never serve it to Mary when she comes over
) Do you know how she fixes her DH t//a sandwiches out of it? She says she wears gloves LOL I bet Foxy and Riley love it when she opens that can! LOL
Irish, I'm with you on the liver and onions, gag me! LOL My Dad loves it! I had to be at the same table too many times and was made to eat it most of the time too! Y-U-C-K-O!!!!!! It doesn't and never will grace my table!
Mary, cauliflower doesn't like me so I stay away from it. I saw where they make mock smashed potatoes out of it but naw I'll pass.
Becca, I always just made the recipe on the bag, my Dad LOVES macaroons! That is ok for him to love them ;o)
Jana, do you make egg noodles? I make those every so many years LOL The recipes makes too many and I can't seem to get them thin enough.
Wellllllll I was considering chicken for supper but all this talk of banned food has changed my mind so we'll be eating that banned food tonight, baked sweet potato and salad
) no afters. But oh my goodness was my baby cupcake soooooooooo good last night! Frankie helped me eat it too. I told him I didn't think that was quite fair though because he's getting to eat the cake today.......he says but not warm and fresh out of the oven! Psh! LOL So for every little bite I took he had 1 too.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, June 11th
I am really late to the table tonight. Sorry.....
We went "mac n cheesing" this morning before the birds were even up.
It was daylight, but the sun was still low in the sky. Really pretty on the lake. We only CPR (Catch, Photo, Release) - Mary, you wouldn't have much trouble with me, now, would you????
This morning, I was casting along a big dead tree. I got a strike!!! But I missed. Picked up a different rod, different bait. Second cast, second strike!!! I missed again. I was determined to keep trying. I told my DH, I am going to make him so mad, that he will strike hard.
DH actually put up with me trying so hard and backed the boat up a little so I could keep pounding the water in this spot. Dog gone, I knew the fish was there, and low and behold, he did strike again and this time, I WON!!! DH was excited, too, he even got the net out. We did not weigh it, but guessing, it was at least 2LBS. Wow, it was so fun. Only caught one more the rest of the morning, but that was really fun. Knowing the fish was there and keeping at it until he really did bite hard enough for me to catch him.
Burgers and potato salad for dinner tonight, as we are heading out to dance. OK, friends, we will dance a waltz in your honor.
Happy Evening

Oh Mary just realized I didn't answer you about the List
I just finished putting the 2 side borders on, whooped me! I'm hoping the top and bottom go on as well. Then I gotta do the strip and then the last border.....actually I'm going to attach the strip to the last border, I can't hold that much top, it's BIG! I'm resting before starting supper

Sorry. If you use mac n cheese for the unmentionables, what do you do when you are referring to mac n cheese? LOL I'll try to remember not to mention. The other won't be a problem.
Jana - that's a good reference. Rustic noodles or cheaters? I like my rustic but every now and then I use cheaters.
Irish - I noticed where she was from and was thinking I'd be loving the fresh choices available in that neck of the woods. Carp flavored mac n cheese from the Allegheny River isn't THAT bad. Go Pirates!!!!
Becca - I'll slip up I know it. I'll try to remember it's a four letter word.
Farmchick - pond fruit. That's good. That sounds like something I would do - serve something a guest can't or won't eat. If someone were to visit, I would not be offended in the slightest if they'd mention foods they can't eat or don't care for. I'd be tickled if they'd be willing to request what they would prefer.
I guess the T word is a four letter word too. I only make T noodle casserole for me and the kids. DH doesn't like it. He's picky.
Vel - enjoy your waltzing.
