SUPPER CLUB - Mon, April 20th
Good Morning!
Today is my kitty, Riley's, 16th birthday. So I'm off to the store for some coconut to make a cake. (do not laugh!! I'm sure you all do silly stuff, too!)
JANA - now, girl, you can't mention something as tasty as Cheddar Bay Biscuits and not tell us what they are. My lips are smacking in anticipation here!
CHICKIE - Enjoy your tasty food! Betsy showed me a thing on FB yesterday that said not to worry about dieting, because fat people are harder to kidnap. I cracked up and then decided that's going to be my new philosophy!
TINA - don't worry about Grandpa getting top billing with Easton - when he REALLY wants something, you know who he depends on! And it's not grandpa!
IRISH - oh dear! I hope you didn't forget to eat - or feed the Jim!!
Our poor friends, Bob & Betsy. They left yesterday morning but were back within 1/2 hour. The axle that was replaced on their cargo trailer last week at Les Schwab was apparently the wrong size. So we still have them with us. Which is nice for us because they are such great guests. But I know they want to be on the road. For entertainment yesterday we had Betsy weeding flowerbeds and Bob was out helping Bill build an electrical outlet post in the back yard for RV hook-up or for using electrical tools, or whatever. Maybe today we'll have them do the vacuuming and the laundry! lol!!
But never fear, we shall feed them well tonite if they are still here - BBQ'd chicken on the grill, twice-baked potatoes, a veggie of some sort, and coconut cake for afters.
What's happening in your tummy tonite?

Good morning,
Maryz - have them blame me - I suggested that the trailer wouldn't be right - sorry! Cheddar bay biscuits are the ones that come with your dinner at Red Lobster, but since that restaurant is not on your list... they are yummy warm biscuits that are loaded with cheddar cheese, and a garlic butter sauce spread on their tops. They are quite easy for to make - I have a copycat recipe, or I buy the mix at the grocery store - the box is labeled as Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Costco sells them as well. Costco big box, has 4 individual packages. Of course, I doctor the mix - add more fresh grated cheese than the recipe calls for. The package makes about 8 or 10 biscuits and I use a ice cream scroop to portion the batter. My kids all love them.
Dinner - something with turkey burger. The soup last night will be DH's lunch for the next couple of days.
Enjoy!
Jana

Sing happy birthday to Riley from me and have her eat an extra bite of her cake for me too
Sorry about Betsy and Bobs repair troubles but nice you get to spend extra time with them
your planned activities for them sound fun to me
if we get to make it up to your house save a flower bed for me
hehehe
Hmmmmm I guess I better figure out what's for supper around here tonight, we're all out of leftovers. I sure hope it's something easy because I really need to mow the front yard this evening. I figure probably no sewing tonight but if I can get all my yard work finished and uglies inside then I have a good chance at tomorrow

Good afternoon from sunny but wet, Sw. Pa...We started out sunny, then it poured and now the sun is shining very brightly, for how long, never know.....
Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous but we've been warned not to get used to it, yet!
Mary, please give the birthday baby an extra hug from me... You really know how to treat your guests, don't you? And I'm not talking about the goodies you're going to serve at dinner...Although, that cake sure does sound scrumptious....And if Tina doesn't get the last piece, save it for me....
And, I'm really liking Betsy more and more and feel so much better knowing, I'm not in danger of being kidnapped....
And, we ate yesterday, had burgers on the grill and they were great....We also had a window fellow measure all the windows and finally my dream will come true, or at least one of those dreams, lol....
We spent the morning walking through the cemetery (I know you're all jealous) and then picked up a few groceries...Hopefully, I'm home to stay and can change into my scruffy clothes...Since the house is going to be "under construction" I can't really do major cleaning (yea) so I might have to play in the sewing room, another yea!
As far as dinner, I'm thinking chili and a salad....Fresh strawberries and ice cream for afters..........easy peasy.....
Happy eating............

Gosh, I've lost track of our menu! Last night and Sat. night we ended up at Mama's Grill...Earl wanted a "big steak"..and Spiro usually makes Earls steak for him...
So tonight will be roasted bologna with dressing and home canned green beans and corn..plus some biscuits.
It is cooler today...low 60's and very windy. Rain yesterday and last night...chance today, too...but right now the sun is shining!
Dinner with the Pringles is tomorrow...since Spiro has the cowboy singing tonight. The new dinner list is done..lots of yummy places to eat this summer.
