SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, Dec 18th
Good Morning!
We did a dumb thing yesterday. We got Scottie groomed. Bill forgot to tell them not to use foo-foo scents. Dogs don't like foo-foo and apparently, neither do cats. When he came back into the house, Foxtrot took one whiff and went ballistic! Hissing, clawing, chasing, biting, snarling! Scottie responded in kind. chairs got overturned, one dish was broken, and one sewing machine almost got knocked over!! The fight is still on this morning. and yet, before Scot left for the beauty parlor, they were sleeping cuddled up together after a big play session! Wow! They've been such good friends ever since Day 3. Guess we have to go through this all over again. Sigh.
ABITA - nice to see you! In our family, the adults all draw names so we buy one special gift, under $50, for only one person. (though being the mom, I always get one small gift for everyone 'cause I can't help myself ;o) ) We stopped gifts with extended family and friends a long time ago.
VELDA - we missed the TG leftovers, too. And Autumn is talking about a Christmas brunch, rather than dinner, so I think we'll do the turkey breast in the crockpot thing, too. If not near Christmas, then for New Year's.
CHICKIE - taco salad sounds good. I think that will be on my menu for tonite.
JANA - how's the voice today?
BECCA - you made me laugh - you said you had leftovers after the flooring job was done and I was thinking you had leftover boards and thought it odd that you said how much you loved them! As I read further, I got it - you had leftovers from the MEAL! lol!
IRISH - a big hug for you!
We ate out last night at Johnny Carino's with another couple, and tonite our big group of ten is going to a Mexican restaurant for supper. Our good friends who are parked next to us are leaving in the morning for Arizona so we are giving them a grand send-off. So no cooking yet again!
Happy eating to you all!

Good morning! Things never turn out like I plan. When I went to the freezer, I found a nice T-bone steak. There was a pack of fresh spinach in the fridge, and I cooked it. DH had steak and spinach, and I had a pile of fresh veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, mushrooms, carrots) and dip, an artichoke and some spinach. We were both quite happy.
Tonight will be chicken from Pittsburg as I'm taking my DGS his birthday cookie and having lunch with my DD.
It's 34 degrees here, and there's a glaze of ice all over everything. I'm hoping I can get into my truck and get it started.
MaryZ--I never thought about all the frou-frou smells from the groomer. I've never had a dog groomed. Last night I was on the sofa with both dogs. Tinker Bell lands wherever she wants to go. She's not supposed to be on the bed, and if we don't close the door when we leave... guess where she goes. They are both too sweet to stay mad at for long.
Enjoy your dinner!

Good morning,
It's snowing here! The storm is only 2 days late. The proverbial they never get it right here.
I have a voice, somewhat raspy, but I can talk. Chicken soup and matzo balls really works!
We need to head off and do some shopping and get the newspaper this morning.
Dinner will be a banned treat, this one is Dover mac and cheese.
We may just still have a white Christmas here .......
Enjoy,
Jana

Here I came for ideas for dinner...tacos.ugh. And Chickie, do you really go all the way to Pittsburg (Pennsylvania)for chicken?????
I have no clue...we have leftover ham, green beans and potatoes from last night, but it's too soon to eat that again. It will probably be the smoked sausage..and buttered noodles...my old standby!
It's cold...and there is a possibility of snow on Christmas Eve! How cool!

Good early afternoon from dreary, cold, SW. Pa...So far, we have no snow and I'm hoping, Joanne will keep it all on her side of the border......Wonder if we could put up a big fence?????
Mary, your groomer story has brought back a lot of memories....When we had our Persian, Prince Simba, we took him about every 6 weeks or so...Well, he would get the works, foo foo shampoo and come home with a bow either on top of his head or tied around his neck...He would walk in and actually strut around the house with his head held high as so say, "look at me".....Well, the other 2 cats acted just like Foxtrot, with the hissing etc. and poor Simba just wanted to be adored......
Chickie, I know you're not coming to our Pgh. but we'd sure love to have you.....We have a lot of other good things, not only chicken....
Jana, you also can keep your snow on your side of the states, thank you.....Glad to "hear" you voice is back....
Jim has gone to help with the big bingo party today and hopefully, he'll eat enough and I won't have to worry about cooking...But, we do have left over spaghetti/meat balls and I am hungry for Huluski (cabbage and noodles).....And one of these days, I might actually start baking...Gotta keep my guy happy........
Happy eating..............
