SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, Dec 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Dec 11, 2014 1:46 am

Good rainy morning! This was going to be our caroling day but it was changed to Saturday for weather reasons. So glad we did that! Caroling in snow is one thing. pouring rain, not so much!

JOANNE - I hope you felt well enough to go shopping yesterday.
JANA - 'Hawks vs 'Niners on Sunday! See you there!
IRISH - Does Jim like peanut butter fudge? One of my favorites!
BECCA - did you get all your dolls finished?
CHICKIE - is it raining in your yard?
LADY CAROL - where are you? Hope you're getting enough to eat!
VELDA - spaghetti sounds good! I think that's next in our "rotation".

Our taco's last night were good and a nice change. We haven't had Mexican for a long time. You know, Mexican food isn't generally spicy, unless you add the heat yourself. In fact, there is no more bland food than refried beans! We have enough left for tonite, too, so other than cutting up more lettuce and tomatoes, the microwave will be doing all the work! DH bought some bakery cookies so we even have "afters", a rarity in this household.

so are you starting to plan your Christmas meals?

Mary--no rain, just gloomy overcast.

I think I'm going to make split pea soup for dinner tonight and use up my ham. If I don't finish the ham, the next use will be ham and beans with the bone and remaining meat.

I need to start planning Christmas meals... Have a dinner on the 20th with DH's late wife's family. YIKES! It's all happening so quickly!!!

Today was my plan to shop because the sun is shining! But...a package is due to arrive today and we don't want to chance someone stealing it off the porch..alot of that going around!

Tonight I will do something with the chicken breast that is thawing in the frig...not sure what...and maybe some mac and cheese.

Mary, the only Mexican I eat is chicken quesadillas at Mama's Grill. And you are right, not spicy, but they serve a spicy salsa on the side and some sour cream (which I love).

Hope everyone eats well tonight!!

Joanne

Good morning from cold, overcast, SW. Pa...No rain, no snow, no sun! I just had a text from a gal friend who is at the airport leaving for Florida....And this WAS a good friend.....

Mary, something about caroling and rain, just doesn't sit well...Glad it was postponed....And you even have to ask if Jim likes peanut butter fudge?????That has to be his favorite....Right now, I have a concoction or my version of crunchy peanut butter, chocolate chips and almond bark in the frig...Or maybe I should say, I had some the last time I checked...

Joanne, what a shame, you have to be on guard, waiting for a package...I've heard about that happening but thank goodness, we haven't had it in our area...

This is bingo day for the elderly and run around day for this elderly chick...As far as dinner, there again, that's up in the air...Yesterday, I got in the mood for potato salad, weird, I know....So, we had left over stuffed peppers and potato salad and I also made a bread pudding that is to die for, lol....
Tonight might be something picked up in my travels or maybe just soup, grilled cheese and left over banana pudding.....

Happy eating..............

Good morning,

Mary - yes the game is on here too - wonder if my 9'ers will show up this time. Even the lowly Raiders beat them last week.

Yes, I have been planning the big family dinner - it is on Christmas Eve here and the main course is Prime Rib roasts it takes 2 large ones for this tribe. That is my department to cook them. Dinner will be at Sarah's house this year and the girls are doing the rest of the meal - including yorkshire puddings. The kids don't like change to tradition.

Tonight's dinner - leaning towards tacos, or nachos, or taco salad - something in that range.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good Evening All.....Its a wild.....very wild.....and wet....and cold.....out there today......
so today I lost 2 umbrellas.....one on the way to the hairdressers(that was almost a waste of time)and one to get the newspapers from the village shop....however....I still have another 4 lined up by the front door......if you knew my record of losing umbrellas you wouldnt need to ask...why so many !!

Have almost finished all my cooking for Claire....Beef Stews....Shepherds Pies....Chicken Kormas.....just have Bakewell Tarts and some Malteaser Traybakes.....get those done tomorrow.....then they go from my freezers to my Cindys freezers to Claires freezers up north.....still waiting on Willows blood tests to come back....but she was able to do a full day at school yesterday and her rash has now almost gone.

Todays menu.....the usual Thursdays Egg and Chips and grilled Tomatoes....Bread and Butter Pudding for afters....

Maryz....with all the aromas in this kitchen.....we have certainly been tucking in.....

Carol
