SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Sept 12th
Good morning!
I was late yesterday, but I'm here today!
TINA - I hope your day is a better one today. You soup sounded good to me! I like green chilies.
CHICKIE - here, we would call your supper "stoup" or "stewp" - when it's kind of a combo of soup and stew. It sounded good, too.
Tonite, we're going to dinner at friends' in Tacoma. Another couple is going with. The hosts were very good friends of my first set of in-law parents so they are a generation older than I. I loved them then, but lost track of them after my DH died. Years later we ran into them and started getting together again. Meanwhile, at a widow's support group I met a new friend, Esther. (Turns out Esther knew a lot of my family, but she and I never connected.) Eventually both Esther and I remarried and after years of socializing as couples, we figured out that the first couple - my in-laws' friends - were also long lost friends of Esther! We got them together and they were so joyful! so now we are a group of 6 and we have dinner and play cards on a regular basis. I wish my in-laws were still alive to join us. Anyway, that's the back-story on dinner for tonite.
As for our menu, if I had to bet, I'd guess we're having pork roast, chicken, or pot roast. I'll report tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it won't be liver, seafood, or venison. lol!!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Sept 12th
Good afternoon from dreary, chilly, SW. Pa...We were supposed to have temps in the 70s with sun but so far, no go! To me, it's darn cold!
Mary, so glad to see you here today...I don't think I could have taken another "meal less" day....I told Jim he could be in charge of dinner because our "Supper Chief" didn't make it and, ready for this?????He made a bag of popcorn and divided it in 2 bowls....Hey, life is good, if you like popcorn and some one else is making dinner....
But, on another note, our Chris is back in ICU with pneumonia...Kathy said it happened so fast because he had been doing so well...So here we go again....I'm thinking, we might take a trip to the hospital and then pick up something on the way home.....If not might be another bag of popcorn......
Happy eating...............

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Sept 12th
Good afternoon,
I'm down at the kids babysitting.
I did nachos for us and Stu last night, there are some leftovers, so if there are still some after leaving Michael home at lunch time, we may have tacos. I saw a recipe for oven baked tacos - you mixed refried beans and taco sauce and meat together and place in the shells, top with cheese and bake. So we shall see how that works.
On my way back home, I need to stop at my LQS, today is refill day for Best Press. They give a special rate if you bought your bottle from them on the second Friday of the month, I also need to make a fresh veggie run at the store too.
Well, my little Emma is covered from head to toe with sand from the sandbox and it is naptime.
Enjoy,
Jana
