SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Sept 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Sep 02, 2014 3:17 am

So - none of you want me on your home decorating team, huh? I'm so hurt. At least with my present decor, you can't tell if it's a mess or not! No uglies to do!

Yesterday we ate our supper for lunch, so we ended up with macaroni & cheese for supper. MY macaroni and cheese. the kind with macaroni. And cheese. And nothing else! We have half of that left, so it will most likely be tonite's repast as well. With a salad.

I've been trying to think of other simple meals for the rest of this week. Even our kitchen is crowded and it's hard to do much in there. Burgers one night and maybe pizza one night - store bought or delivered.

Hope meals are easier at your house!

MaryZ - I have not read the last couple days posts here, but you can come help me decorate anytime!!!

Our dinner will be some leftover Brats that didn't get cooked on Sunday, when the kids were here. Not sure what else. Will probably stop at grocery store when I go get our mail.

You want simple meals - one I like is the frozen Chicken Cordon Bleu I get from Schwan's. Have also used ones from grocery, there good too. Marie Callendars Lasagna 3 meat, micro in 14 minutes. If I'm on the flat lands, I will stop and get a Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner. Makes it easy when I get up the mountain.

I'd gladly let you undecorated and redecorated for me any old time Mary :-) no uglies is a terrific incentive for undecorating hehehe
I'd say anything in the crockpot would be easy :-) Roast, BBQ chicken, pulled pork etc etc :-)
I think we're having tacos tonight, mine without the taco shell :-) I wrap mine in lettuce leaves :-)

I'm not sure what's on the menu tonight... definitely tomatoes! I'm going to make a batch of pasta sauce today; I made salsa yesterday. I'm not as organized or energetic as Jana--she rocks with all she did yesterday!!!

I love "real" mac 'n cheese... As you know, I also love the "other one"...

Enjoy!

Good morning from warm but overcast, Sw. Pa....We did have sun earlier and I hung some clothes out but we then had a little rain and down came the clothes...Oh well, now the sun is shinning brightly, just not my day....

Mary, I'm with the rest of the gals, you can come and redo my house any time....I would welcome a change....
And I also 2nd the suggestions from Lyn, especially from Schwan'S..And if you get one of their men in shorts, it's an extra bonus....Darn I miss my Mr. Schwan (mostly during the summer, lol)...

I stood in front of the freezer hoping something would jump out but just got a blast of cold air....Lots of chicken but I think Jim is tired of chicken so next best might be pork chops....And I might even make mashed spuds and gravy...Depends on my mood in a couple of hours....Still not baking but I did find some brownies in the freezer...Jim will be thrilled! I should visit the freezer more often, amazing what you find.....

Happy eating................

Good morning,

I am looking at a clean kitchen and all the jars we did yesterday - nice on both counts!

Mary - you have a second kitchen -your trailer - when we tore up the California house, I was totally wihout a kitchen for over a year! Slow contractor, we finally fired, and got it finished with a new one that I love! He lives here inUtah, buts works mostly in Ca. So I survived cooking for three of us, a teenager at the time too - with my microwave, crock pot and electric frying pan. No sink eithrr, did pans in the bathroom and ate off paper plates.

Dinner - grocery run is order for today - would love some PNW mac and cheese with lemon dill sauce. We will see if the new Costco has quieted down yet. Probably will stop off at the farm as well for fresh veggies.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good Evening All.....another balmy day.....long may they continue......

Today was our Aber day......and the first with a new bus company.....and somehow I don't think many of us will be repeating the journey with them.....those of us who can will use the cars which defeats the object of having the bus......the journey took an extra hours travelling....there were 3 bus men on board.....but it fell to one of the passengers to help the old ladies off with their shopping trollys....while the bus men looked on.....sorry but we were not impressed.....my friends have asked me to go with them in their car.....and that's what I will do....reluctantly.....because I think the bus will stop running....and that is the only bus some of the villages have got......

and now to food.......todays menu.....the leftover Chicken in Sauce Casserole with Tiny Potatoes....Profiteroles and Chocolate Sauce for afters.....I am liking the leftover lark.....note to self.....cook extra where you can......

Carol.....

P.S. Maryz and CHriss.....I think you were both very brave to accept the Ice Cold Bucket Challenge......and both husbands looked like they were enjoying themselves.......
