Supper club, Aug, 11th, Monday...............
Good morning from a very dreary, damp, chilly, SW. Pa....What happened to that gorgeous weather they had predicted????? Here we go with the sweat shirts and shoes..............
Not much happening at the table yet...I was hoping someone would have the tea kettle going or the coffee poured...
I was going to pick all the green cherry tomatoes and make a batch of relish but instead, I will take advantage of the dreary day and keep company with my machine...I started a double Irish chain and am anxious to get a few more blocks done....
And as far as dinner, I'm thinking it's soup day....Not sure what kind but something warm...And I might have to bake something, the banana bread is gone....(Can't imagine who took care of that)
So what's warming up your kitchen today????
Happy eating...............

Good morning! You can have some of our hot, dry, sunny weather!
I have my coffee and the laundry started. I need to do the floors today. Yesterday was a total loss. I spent the day in bed weak, aching and light-headed. My menu consisted of a couple of bottles of water, a small v-8, and a few soda crackers with peanut butter when I had hopes of keeping them down. Today I feel like a new woman—fine! DH had to fend for himself, so I need to make him something nice. Hopefully I’ll figure out something later. Right now, no clue.
There is always watermelon, cantaloupes and tomatoes…

Good Evening All......still very blustery and heavy showers......but the sun is shining now.....for a while.....
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-
NOTHING IS NICER THAN A FRIEND......UNLESS ITS A FRIEND WITH CHOCOLATE......
Chickie....sorry to hear you have been poorly.....could it have been something like sunstroke.....a friend of ours had it couple of weeks ago......of course he thought the worse......with our temps it isn't seen here very often......but most of us wrinklys remember it from when we were kids.....we used to get prickly heat too.....but haven't seen that around for years.....sorry about that...didn't mean to put the damper on things.....do hope you are feeling much better now...
I have spent all day tidying the sewing roon....ugh.....flannelette
quilts for the babies are lovely and cuddley.....but the machine and all around do need a good tidy up.....
Maryz.......hope you are not too long without your machine babies.....
now that I have my Singer hand machine.....I don't feel quite so vunerable.....although there are always the Hexies......
Irish.....I have done about 4 Irish Chain quilts......but must admit I didn't know they were Irish Chain when I made them.....I was new to quilting then and just jumped in......it gets harder when you are supposed to know what you are doing.....personally.....it was easier when I didn't know......does that make sense.....lol.....
todays menu.....Burgers Stick Chips and Tomatoes......Ice Cream and Toffee Sauce for afters.......
Carol

Oh, I'm late today! It's almost quitting time! I've been cleaning kitchen cabinets. How do they get so dirty?? I am good about keeping them tidy, but they still get dusty and full of bits of flotsam and jetsam. All day long and only about 1/4 finished. Sigh.
CHICKIE - so sorry you were down and out yesterday. Sick in bed is pretty bad. I hope you took it a little easy today.
IRISH - I've always wanted to do an Irish chain. A double or possibly a triple in honor of my little Irish mama. I actually have a lot of Irish themed fabrics already.
BECCA - your summer is unusually cool and ours is unusually hot this year. Trade ya!
CAROL - I wasn't totally bereft - I did have my Featherweight. But I had nothing to sew! Imagine that!
DH picked up my Janome today! Yay!! I hope there's nothing wrong with it, now! When the Bernie came home, it had FOUR problems it didn't have when it went in. Then the vacuum came home a few days later and the repair they did broke almost immediately, and it dragged what can only be described as black axle grease all over our carpets! DH took pictures, wrote a letter of SERIOUS complaint, and took it all to the shop to be hand delivered to the owner of the company which has almost 20 outlets all over the Puget Sound area. The woman Bill talked to was horrified when she saw the photos of our rugs. Now I feel like I better go over my Janome with a fine-toothed comb! Maybe it's a good time to get this green/white fabrics out - to test my Janome.
Supper tonite is a no brainer for me. Leftovers!! We've got chicken and rice and veggies, fruit, and salad. Now if we could just find someone to dish it up for us . . . .
