SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Aug 5

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Aug 05, 2014 3:43 am

Good Morning!

I hear the sprinkler outside the open window. I'm pretending it's rain I'm hearing. Blessed Northwest rain. Which we've seen very little of this summer.

JO - I love it! you get to go play and leave The Mister home to tend the dirties! What a great role reversal! Have a sweet day!

CHICKIE- we both love tomatoes and out of the garden, they are so much more delish! and they are a super-food, too! I did post one picture of Lara's quilt a few weeks ago. Autumn's is called Hocuspocusville and you can google that. Mine is very similiar to that one. Mike's will be posted soon, I hope.

BECCA - what a great celebration you had! all that wonderful food! new babies!! Mark and Denise!!! you are probably still walking on air - and leftovers! Scramble isn't an uncommon dish here. Even some restaurants have it on their menus. Every time I make it, it's a little different.

IRISH - of course, our ketchup is Heinz! Is there any other? The ONLY sweet your Chris likes is raisin cookies? My, I wish I could say that!

CAROL - 100 yrs ago. Can't believe it's been that long. Lights out is a good way to honor such an occasion.

Well, we never had our scramble last night (we actually call it Biker's Hash, but that's just us.) My middle brother, Al, dropped in to visit. He lives almost 2 hours away but was in town for his 60th high school reunion. And as soon as he left, another Al dropped in to measure our house for new flooring. By the time he left it was after 7pm so we ended up with wide egg noodles topped with mushroom gravy I had in the freezer.

So tonite - the scramble! Onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, eggs all together. But we should have a salad, too, I think. Or some kind of veggie at least.

What's cooking in your brain for tonite?

Good morning,

Organizing the cold storage room in the basement, DH found things that needed to come out of the freezer down there, so he found a pot roast - so that will pop in the crock pot in a few minutes. The cold storage room needs attention today as well, to finish putting away everything I brought home yesterday. I need to add the date to the food, that way I know to use the older date first.

Lots of rain, thunder and lightning today.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, purrrfect SW. Pa....I'm hoping you all don't get tired of hearing me meander about our weather.....I think they are calling for boomer storms later but I'll believe it when I see it....

Sorry to say, I don't have the same "sweet" gene that Chris does...Right now, my cravings wonder to cinnamon/sugar pop tarts...Nick got me started and now it's a favorite....

Since my Aldi's trip was rained out on Sunday, we did our thing today...Needed flour for those cookies....Today is Chris and Kathy's 36th wedding anniversary and I'm hoping to treat them to Chinese (take out)....And along with the cookies they get the gift of a lifetime, one of my many zucchinis...
And on our way, Jim said he had to make a stop at KMart...He had seen an eagle statue and wanted to get it for me for my birthday....So, I know have an eagle sitting on my counter while I figure out a good perch.....If I can't have a live one, this is next best, lol.....

And now for dinner...Gonna be quick and easy...Burgers on the grill and a salad.....Cookies and butter pecan ice cream for afters.......

Happy eating...............

Good Evening All......a rather wet day here today.......

My Aber day.....nearly didn't make it......overslept.....must have turned the alarm off and turned over.....but made it with 10 mins to spare......oh dear....I am so not a morning person.......

Our lights went out last night......and it was good to see so many responded to that request......100 years and so many lives lost.....my Grandads brother was lost at sea.....there was hardly a family who didn't lose a relative......

I have already said its been a wet day.......and I got bl..dy soaked trying to put up an umbrella that was determined it wasn't going to go up......haha....reminds me of the drainpipe and the brolly joke....

JANA....I love your barn.....and your little Emma is a little cracker............

Todays menu.....Burgers and Salad.....Rice Pudding we should have had on sunday for afters.....

Carol
