SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Oct 15th
Happy Tuesday!
Jana - I love pasta and homemade is the best! I make it like my mom did - rolling it out with her rolling pin, slicing it into wide noodles, and draping it on newspaper around the house, over chairs and the couch, to dry. So good! I'll take either red or white. Both are yummy!
Jo, here's my bean salad recipe: It's 10-12 servings.
1 each of garbanzo, wax, green, lima, & kidney beans. Drain well.
1/2 c. each chopped onions and chopped green pepper.
4 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 each vinegar, sugar, oil
I didn't make the chicken and pasta last night, but went with the homemade pizza instead. Tonite DH and I will eat the leftovers while our company go to Seattle to visit some other friends for the day.
What's bubbling in your pot tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Oct 15th
Good late morning from sunny, getting warmer, SW. Pa...We are having, maybe the last of the, gorgeous, gorgeous days days here in the "burgh".......And guess who is going to mow the grass????YES once again!
Mary, glad to hear you're having a little reprieve...Love to have company but it's always good when they do go out for the day or so.....And Kathy's friend is a FRIEND!...She met him at work with the help of some of her co-workers who pushed and urged her to go out with him and he seems to be quite a nice fellow, (from what I hear)...I don't think there's marriage in the plans, although he did tell her, his hospitalization is much better than her's...Is that romantic or what????I guess it we don't look at the ring, we check out the benefits...But, I think she's enjoying the company for now....But who knows......
And on to dinner....I was gone all day yesterday, my sister made me go with her, so Jim was on his own...But, since today is so nice, it might be outside grilling...We didn't have the burgers the other night so that just might work out for tonight...And I just took a nice big apple crisp out of the oven, so you know who will be in his glory......
Happy eating..............

Hello everyone.Another beautiful sunny day here.Leaves are starting to get pretty.
MARYz So glad you get a reprieve.Always nice to get a break.
IRISH Save some apple crisp.I just may make that or apple cake.Have some apples I need to use.
JOANNE I could not find my bean recipe but mine has corn red peppers & you squeeze lime juice over it.I know that makes a difference. You are not limited in veggies.Real tasty.
Got laundry done.Walk & found out DH wants split pea soup with Ham.I will boil potatoes in the jacket & put some in soup.Salad & cookies.Becca

Maryz and Becca thanks for your "bean" input!! Becca, unless yours has vinegar, I don't think it's exactly it. Mary, your vinegar/sugar/oil mixture sounds like it might be the same.
Tonight will be Mama's...Earl and his son will fool around with the sewer pipes after Jeff gets home from work...make sure they are running free...and then we will eat. And since I have no idea when that will be, we will eat out!
We're due for a little rain, maybe tonight. It's still fairly warm today, but by the weekend it is supposed to be in the 50's for highs. Sounds like Fall is on it's way!
