Sibling quilts

Dear friends of mine have three sons and I would like to make throw quilts for the boys. My plan is to use the same colors and use blocks that are fairly simple, different from each other but go well together. Jacob's Ladder is a definite, but the other two are open. Perhaps Fence Rail and Irish Chain? I would be grateful for any thoughts or suggestions. Thank you in advance!

Have you seen the "Take Five " book? There are a few quilts in it that might work for you.
Another option would be to find a two block combination that you could make easily. Like churn dash and jacob's ladder.

I did something similar for my 2 boys. I made 2 bear tracks quilts with the same fabrics. I just set each different. My boys are grown now with wives, but they still have their quilts!

My favorite, bowtie, or better yet, 3D bowtie. 3D uses 5blocks same size. If this rookie can make it, anyone..
