On those Priority Flat Rate products, if you set up a free account at USPS.com and print your own labels out then you get a tiny discount but the best thing is you get FREE tracking and you can also schedule a pickup for the next mail day and they will get it right from your door step! I love using it! I don't have to drive the 10 miles 1 way to the post office so I save probably close to a gallon of gas...Ka Ching more money saved! Solves lots of problems!

Re: New Mailing Prices for 2013
If you look closely at those priority rate boxes some are a regional rate A , B or C box... these are based totally on weight and where they are going.... so it pays to weight your box and see which way it is cheaper to send it.. and believe it or not sometimes if you send it in your own box priority mail it is even cheaper.. you have to take the time to understand it all to get the best rates but there were many times I was only spending 5-6 dollars regional rate where the priority rate box was 12-14 dollars to the same destination. I heartedly agree that having the letter carrier pick up your package is the best thing... you have to have a priority rate package in order for them to pick it up but once they are picking one up they will take mail in any other form with it ie.. media rate or letter rate.

The Flat Rate Priority boxes and envelopes are free from the PO and they will send you them right to your house, no charge. I keep the envelopes handy and also they have a sampler package of 1 of each of the boxes that you can get also.

Sonya, yep the Flat rate are 1 price for the size package just not more then 70 pounds I believe
) "If it fits, it ships" says the PO LOL I don't know about the reginal stuff either but I have noticed that when I receive from some SP's that they could've shipped for 1/2 the price almost and sent it at least twice as fast. I always use the Flat Rate
) way too easy
