Quilt in a Day Forums

Hi,
I am new to this website and it looks like there are alot of uilters that are willing to help out. I have been quilting for about 15 years. I learned to do the hand quilting but now I have found that I like the machine quilting as well.

I have seen some of the video that are posted on "you tube" that I have been trying out. The one that is puzzeling me is the Twice as Nice one. I am having trouble figuring out the measurements of the stripes that are used in this block.I hope someone would be able to help me out ... Thank you

I have the answer to your question - but at the moment - it is buried in my packing - we just moved to a new home and I haven't yet unpacked - but don't worry - I know that someone here will have your answer.

I have made this block before and it is very easy - I did it in El's teacher's training class - my brain wants to say that the strips are her famous 2 1/2 inch strips - but I am not sure -

Twice As Nice is made from 2 1/2 " strips. Easy and effective when made with a Jelly Roll, but can be made with scrappy or planned fabrics.

A Jelly Roll comes with 40 strips all in the same 'line', and they are precut 2 1/2" by the width of the fabric. If you want to cut your own, just cut 40 strips 2 1/2" wide by the width of the fabric. Actually, I think that pattern - for all 3 quilts - just takes 39 strips.
