I was wondering if you use a shape cut from a accuquilt machine do you still have to turn under fabric when you applique to a block? I have never applique before so I was just wondering? You see a bunch of different cutouts on ebay

i would say your fabric will fray which ever way you cut it... you can applique in a number of different ways. you can 'needle turn' which is as you stated; turning under the fabric.
or, satin stitch the raw edge, or... sew a very small stitch say about 1.4 just inside the raw edge. if i do this, i use 'fray-check' along that edge also...

Donna, I bought some cutouts from ebay several years ago..and if the ones you got are similar, (which I think they are) they are meant to be machine appliqued. I don't think there is enough size to do needle turn. Mine are on fusible, but you could just zig-zag them down, or use a satin stitch to apply them to the background.
To do needle turn, the cutout needs to be at least 1/8th in. to 1/4 in. to turn under.
Hope this helps...and like Jacquie said, I would use "Fray Check" on the edges just to be "safe".
