is this possible to redo a finished quilt width

we have decided the quilt i made for our rv needs to be a bit wider so is it possible to go back and make a finished quilt wider the binding is about a forth inch wide or a little wider and i wonder if i can just add to it some how i relly just didnt think it thru real good on the width thats what happens when you dont have a pattern and trying to finish it before we left on a trip 2 mistakes adds up to problems

I guess you'd have to take the binding off first then add each piece to the existing pieces... border, batting and backing....then re-add the binding... depending on how you have it quilted.

or??? could you take off the binding and do a sew as you go method?.. there are lots of tutorials on this method...

Yes you can add - I would use a method that is quilt by sections - there are patterns out there that you complete the square and then add it to the next square - row by row - this is the same way that you can add the border strips. If I remember right - it was a Georgia Bonsteele(sp?) method of quilting - I would try using Google on her name and find a website of hers that may have the tutorials on it. It is easy to do -

YES....YOU CAN. One way is to add more blocks to make it larger; or take out some to decrease it.

To take off the binding, don''''t bother ''''unsewing'''' it. Just take your rotary cutter and ruler and cut it off as straight as you can. Then you can add another border whatever size you need using the flip and sew method.
