Does anyone have a guidline to help in choosing an accent fabric. I am working with the line "true blue" and trying to decide on the green or blue accent fabric for small border. I am using a large print which has blue background with green leaves and yellow flowers for the large border next to the small border.

My personal rule of thumb is what color do you want to bring out in the quilt? Once I figure that out, I'm good to go. I'm sure you'll probably get better ideas though - it's pretty simplistic for me but it's what works! LOL!

I do what Stargate does...whatever color I want to bring out..that's what I use. The True Blues seem to have mostly "medium" values, so I would probably use one of the "darks" in the collection or the yellow..yellow tends to "stand out" even if it is a light color.
It's a beautiful collection so whatever you choose is sure to be wonderful!!

If you can not decide on the color or shade you want, check the edges of the fabric you have already decided to use and you will find small circles or squares of color that will go well with what you are using. Sometime there are matches there that I would not think of using until I put them together and what a surprise.

if it were me, I'd go for the dramatic effect that the yellow would provide. It will make the top pop. Audition the fabic, if you don't like it, go with what you like and you'll never go wrong.
