which book to buy?
I am going to put my gift certificate towards buying one of El's books----which one do you suggest I get? I don't have any of them.

I only have about 8 of El's books, but love them all! But it depends on your skill level and your interests.
STILL STRIPPING is a wonderful book with good basic quilting techniques. Great for beginners.
LOG CABIN is wonderful for all skill levels, I think.
EGG MONEY has a good variety of blocks and techniques.
CHRISTMAS at BEAR's PAW RANCH is fun for all levels.
VICTORY QUILTS also has a lot of blocks but many are intermed or advanced.
UNDERGROUND RR - is wonderful, filled with history of the blocks. But again, many (not all!) are intermed or advanced levels.
Remember, though, Eleanor seems to be able to make even difficult blocks simple!! I think you can't go wrong with any of her books but these are my thoughts on the ones that I have.
Enjoy shopping!

All El's books are great. Christmas at Bears Paw Ranch is my all time favorite with Egg Money Quilts a close second. I ordered Patchwork Santa & DVD with my certificate plus I just had to have the Autumn Leaves pattern! I'm sure you'll love which ever one you choose.

PS. Town Square Sampler is really good, too!

Still Stripping is a good one-lots of different designs in that one. I have many of her books and I like them all. I don't think you'll be disappointed with whichever one you choose.

I have Victory Quilts, Pioneer Sampler, Underground Railroad, Orion's Star and Christmas at Bear Paw Ranch. I'm partial to the ones with some history to it. I guess pick one where you can use your stash and has lots of patterns. Good luck and let us now what you pick!

Have fun! I have that book too, but haven't started my quilt yet, although all my fabrics are pulled & ready...won't tell you how long they've been waiting.
