Finishing some UFO's

Post by Rose92 » Sun Sep 20, 2009 10:16 am

Now that the baby boom has slowed down, I am getting back to finishing some UFO's I have had for 2+ years. This one is a QIAD quilt, Quick Fat Quarters, that I started in 1-07. I finally sent it out to have it LA quilted last month and then I finished the binding this weekend. I call it Comfort Garden. The person that it originally was for is no longer in my life, so I guess I will keep it for myself. I love it so maybe it was meant to be mine all along.

ooohhhh, I made that one and wound up keeping it for myself, too. My husband asked for it on our bed, however, he is so hot natured, we cannot use a cover, so I finally put it on my spare bed. I made some matching pillowcases at our retreat last week. Maybe I can get a picture posted.

The pattern for this is in El's Book, Quick Trip Quilts. And I think I saw a kit for it still available on the Paducah site.

Linda, That is beautiful. It really does look like a field of flowers. Many yrs ago (about 44) my hubby was stationed in Calif and drove thru the flower fields at Lompoc. The flowers are used for the rosebowl parade floats. Your quilt looks exactly like the fields of flowers that I remember.

I love your color choices. And the quilting really sets it all off. Thank you so much for sharing the pics. Brought back long forgotten but happy memories. Glad to hear you are keeping it. God does indeed work in mysterious ways. I think it was meant for you to keep such a gorgeous quilt for yourself.

God bless, Happy Quilting, love and hugs, Shirley Mae
