WHile at Patchwork Plus today I spoted a new panel. It measures 22 ish by 44 ish. It has squares and rectangles with I believe and then it has darling country art type pictures and then hope, peace, santa, hugs, etc. It is deep barn reds, and country gold and greens with a hit of tourquoise. It is called I Believe In Santa by Nancy Halvorsen Benartex Inc. style 3737. I dont know if you all can find it. Anyway one of the ladies at the shop did one as a table runner, and she even took the fat rick rack and bordered the whole panel first. I don't know if something this size could be make into something larger than a table runner. I want to use it as a gift for our sons memorial golf tournament, as everything we have there centers around the word "believe" any suggestions would be sooooooooo appreciated. Thank you

What about using this as the center piece, obviously, then doing borders around the quilt, until its the size you want it? Different borders for each one. You might need a computer program or maybe just some grid paper and calculator? Or just do strips, that would work too. Good luck and I want to see pictures!

How about adding borders of flying geese with each border being made of a larger size goose patch? Dunno...just an idea.

I have a lot of Nancy Halvorsen books and she has a web site - Art to Heart -
www.arttoheart.com - I have seen this panel done by adding piecework and making it a quilt It is a great panel --
Also sometimes Nancy's Notions has the coordinating fabrics in fat quarter packs for The Art to Heart Books and panels
Good Luck

With the panel being rectangular, would it look okay to add lesser border strips to the sides and more to the top and bottom. Say I did the one pattern I got around the whole thing (as the great lady in the shop measured it for me like her as she was making a table runner) Maybe I could add some coordinating color wider borders at the top and bottom and mix in maybe another fun type fabric. I am definitely going to go to the website, thanks so much for that information. With the panel only being 22ish wide and 44ish long I just didn't know how adding borders would work. Thank you all so much

Would it look okay to have a rectangular panel in the center and then build around it? The thing is the rectangle goes side to side so could I put less borders on the sides and more on the top and bottom? I just have no vision, but think it might make a great quilt. I really need to find her book or at least a photo for an idea. Thanks everyone.
