May I please ask if with the flying geese pattern do all the point go in the same direction or do you do one strip with them up and the other with them down? I am taking my first attempt at doing a mystery quilt (sure was a mystery how I messed up so bad hehehehehe) and turning it into a RUSTIC dollie or teddy bear little quilt (don't want to waste even those goofed up pieces). Thank you

The pictures I've seen of flying geese quilts have them all turned the same way. I'd love to see one with alternating rows though, I may make one that way once I finish a few things:)

Chrissy - It is totally up to you. When I did a Birds in the Air quilt recently I decided to have the large triangles for a pinwheel design causing the geese to fly everywhere. I thought it looked more contemporary than if the geese were all flying in the same direction. The quilt will be a gift for my nephew who is graduating from HS, so I though a more contemporary look was appropriate.

One of the reasons why I make quilts is because if you like it do it! After all it is your creations.

You put them any way your heart desires...I have seen them with sashing in between the vertical rows, too, that's a nice look!

Well after a long long time I have my mystery quilt which is a sawtooth star, well lots of them, ready to go to the quilter. Now because I has so many booboos I am going to take them all and make a little flying geese quilt, they are the perfect shape and size so here I go. Thanks to everyone for all the info. Photos to follow when both are done
