need some help

Post by SuesQuilts » Tue Jan 27, 2009 12:49 pm

I know that this might sound a little odd but here goes. As many of you know I won a Viking Sapphier 850. If anyone has that model could you please let me know which foot you use to get a quarter inch seam allowance. I tried all the ones that I thought it would be but I am coming up to big. HELP!!!!!

I have a couple of Vikings - Viking makes several quarter inch feet (clear and metal, with or without a metal guide on the edge.) The website hasn't been updated with the Sapphires in the accessory section yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're not the same as the Designer series feet.

I actually have very good results using my A foot and moving my needle all the way over to the right. I use the right toe of the A foot as my guide and get a scant quarter inch seam. That may work for you on the Sapphire until you can get a quarter inch foot.

I have a D1 and use the edge stitching foot and in the stitch menu I choose the 1/4 stitch... which puts the stitch length at 3.5 then I adjust it to 4.0 and it becomes a scant quarter inch... not sure if that helps... I also have a metal and a clear 1/4 foot without the edge thingy but never use them...

Cheers!

P.S. Congrats on your win... that is exciting!!!
