Morgans4, how do you reduce pressure on the presser foot? for applique?

I read your post about fusible web and you mentioned doing this. I don't know how on my Babylock Esante.

There should be a knob or wheel with numbers on it, you just roll it back. They are ususally on the left side of the machine.. Have you gone to the BabyLock website or called a dealer? Amie

I have a Janome 9000 and it has a wheel on the needle side, on top with 1 2 and 3, 1 being the lightest pressure.

drj2 - Do you have a book that came with your machine? The info you need should be in the book.

My machine doesn't have a way to adjust the pressure foot pressure. Babylock told me this. Why does this help anyway? Thanks, Jan

When you reduce the pressue the pressure foot puts on your fabric it is easier to go around curves & the stitiching stays flatter. Not all machines can reduce the pressure. You just need to go a little slower and possibly use a longer or shorter stitch length. Just practice on a scrap piece of fabric till it is what you like.
