T-Shirt quilts

Good morning and Happy Friday!!!

I have been asked to make a t-shirt for a former co-worker and I have no idea what I am doing. I did buy a whole bolt of a light weight fusible interfacing for the project. But beyond that I am kind of lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fabricangel: did one for a friend's daughter - be sure you put on the interfacing exactly as they instruct you (I didn't keep the iron on it as long as I should on some). Otherwise the T shirts are hard to work with. Other than that, once you have the interfacing on, it's relatively easy to put together, just time consuming becuase of the interfacing. You can see mine in the Photos section.

Hope this helps!

I made one for my DH. I bumped it up in the Photo Section.

Also have links for instructions.

Make sure you don't use any type of fabric softener when you wash the t-shirts and this includes dryer sheets. The fusible won't stick to the t-shirts.

fabricangel, That was a great question! Just this week at work someone asked me how to make a t-shirt quilt. I can tell by the questions she asked she wants me to do it for her. I can not. I do not have the time to do my own quilting let alone a t-shirt quilt for someone else. I would "help" her.

Littlebit, Thank you for the QIAD link to that book. I do not remember seeing it on line. I will pass it on.

Happy Quilting.....Kathy
