How to make a paper piece pattern

I have a really cute picture that is relatively simple of a bear doing a somersault (actually 4 pictures progressing.) I want to turn this into a pieced pattern. I have them sketched on graph paper - has anyone made their own paper-piece pattern before?

i have made for very simple plain lines nothing as adorable as what you are descriping if i were to try i would scan it into the computer and import into eq and then go from there

Thanks Carin! Gardenquilter - I don't have eq - does it help to draw patterns?

I use EQ to turn patterns into paper piecing patterns. Sometimes a simple redraw of a few lines will be all it takes to convert most patterns into foundation patterns. EQ is worth the price for me for this feature.
